So the complainers can FINALLY shut up about it. This is official now:

http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/news/post/2014/05/01/the-road-ahead---may-1st

In truth I am actually looking forward to it myself, and hoping it is done in a tasteful way. At the very least it'd be nice if we had the option to retain the appearance of "lower" levels when crafting higher level items.

You can't have everything at launch, I'm just glad it's coming at all. Real interested in what spellcrafting is tho.

Meh...I actually think armor dye kind of ruins the overall system for leveling. The best way to tell if someone has good armor is by looking at how fancy the style is and the color.

If everyone can color their level 3 armor to make it look like veteran armor then it kind of takes away the good feeling you get with wearing the fancy veteran ranked armor.
If you like small group PvP (2-4 players) and solo PvP check out my video ;)https://youtube.com/watch?v=jechGImtFio

SPOILER: The first 40 seconds of the video contains a scene from the final Molag Bal boss fight!

See, the problem with this logic is that in this game, higher level armor does NOT always look better. Sometimes it actually looks significantly shittier. By anyone's standard.

Color alone won't make it look better. Higher level armor is typically shinier and more intricate.

Yeah, that made my day ^^
    Now, HAIR.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Since mmo's are always evolving, devs often listen to the requests of their playerbase. If it's a reasonable and popular request, it's within the company's best interest to make it happen. Welcome to mmo's!

You say that as if it is a bad thing. That's exactly how an MMO should work.

    Can't wait!

Though, I do hope they keep the color palette within the scope of the game. I have a feeling they will, but jeez, you just never know!

I'd love to see the dyes be craftable, maybe something alchemists could make. Gather some plants. Grind em up into a powder and mix with a binder. Voila. Homemade dye.

Um, most of us have been saying "can we dye our gear?", not complaining. Well I did complain about my robes turning a drab blue, but it was a dreary shade, so that was fair.

I'm really looking forward to these dyes.

Yeah, definately don't want them rare, god the white dyes in Swtor went for millions, people would pay over 50 million credits for them, so we don't want them rare.

Yeah, this is gunna be a huge added benefit cuz I detest the pee green armor that I have seen. All black/white/red armor can be awesome looking. Looking forward to this a lot. Hopefully this will be a high level alchemy synth to make them! Make the mats hard(NOT IMPOSABLE LIKE PEPPER)to get thus raising the value of the dies even more.

Real interested in what spellcrafting is tho.

If it's similar in style to what you could do in Oblivion at the end of the Mages Guild quest line, I think it'll be fantastic. If it's similar in effectiveness, it'll be hilarious watching people make the most broken spells possible and force some extreme nerfs.

Seriously, once I got spellcrafting in Oblivion I never used a stock spell again.

Why not? Because they're effeminate colours? I think pinks and purples could work, as long as they're not too eye-offendingly bright (and that goes for every other colour too). They'd be especially good with light armour.

I sort of know what I would choose. Black or Dark Grey for the NB Dual wielder (because ninja, gorram it) Scarlet or Royal Blue for the Sorcerer, Lincoln Green for the Ranger (Sorcerer Archer), White for the Healer and a dark colour for the melee alts :D. I have simple tastes ;)
Oooh look, lot's of Butterflies! Wait! Butterflies? Get out of here Sheo, stop bugging me!
