Thanks for ruining the game for me...

Okay so I love the game, I enjoyed being able to solo everything EXCEPT for world bosses and public dungeons, that was great. I loved being able to grind out quests fast and do what I wanted when ever I wanted, that is over now and here is why:

1. I used to play DW DPS and it was working for me (even with the broken passives) but once I reached VR3+ I was getting destroyed by single mobs so I had to change it up to a tank.

2. I was playing fine as a tank enjoying it even more because I barely died, but then bash was nerfed so hardcore it wasn't even fair... Okay I know most people will comment saying I was using an over powered class and it wasn't fair to anyone else, well all those people are just wrong and bad at the game. Bash wasn't OP at all it was balanced, even in PvP, if you disagree and/or don't understand why then you never played a bash tank.

3. Now I am playing as a destruction staff magic user, I am a Dragon Knight so I have some decent spells as well, but here is the issue. I barely do any damage (I am VR9 in Mal Tor) I can "sometimes" kill 2x mobs but 3+ destroys me, even after the patch that fixed the "accidental" NPC HP+DMG buffs... I can't play I barely do any damage and I can't properly play anymore because I can't quest. I am pretty much FORCED to play with others and I don't mind, but there is barely anyone in my zone that wants to team and do quests so it is near impossible for me to progress past this point...

Don't get me wrong, I love the game and I'm not complaining about anything patch wise except for the bash nerf, it was a viable tactic and it worked. I will continue to play and support the game in every way possible but I don't see how I will be able to progress without spamming chat waiting for hours until someone wants to help me do quests and dungeons so I can level up my new skill lines and actually be able to do some DPS and solo. I've seen plenty of DK wizards out there that can solo even group dungeons, but I'd need to level up my skill lines and morph a few things. At this point that is impossible for me solo... #NerdRage

P.S. If anyone wants to help me out by giving me some tips and advice I'd like that rather than everyone flaming this post talking trash about bash, just don't, anyone that brings negative comments/flames me I will instantly report you, I am simply giving my opinion and asking for some help to better understand how I can progress in solo play now that all of my past classes have been nerfed...

you can get experience from sub 50 quests in the starter zones if you havent completed every quest, equip the weapon and the skills you want to level/morph on your active bar when you hand in the quest to give those skills exp. you can also run around looting chests along rivers/beaches and those too give experience to the wep/skills you have on your active bar. getting the skills to the morph stage is pretty fast, once its morphed though it can take a lot of quests/grinding to max them but they rarely scale to be a lot better, the morphed versions are all you really need.

destro dks have it pretty easy aoe'ing down trash packs so it could be your build holding you back not the skill levels. if you leveled 1-vr3 with one wep bar and only 5 buttons then youre going to be way behind when trying to change your wep and playstyle, the tutorial at the start of the game should scream in peoples face CHANGE YOUR SKILLS AFTER YOU MAX THEM BECAUSE *** WILL GET NERFED, switching up your active skills all the time to level every single class skill with a few different weapon lines ensures you are flexible after patches roll out.

At Vr1+ you can do PvE questing in Cyrodil. The dungeons are hard, but even solo you can do the quests in towns. Pick a server where your side has an edge to maximize your options; you can also usually pick off the open world skyshards solo (unlike the PvE areas, they are guarded, however.) These quests are also nice for gold.

FYI if you want to skill things up just add them to your hotbar before you turn in quest rewards. It's a major boost to skills, armor, and weapons that you want to get better at.

I would try to give tips of what I know, but I dont really understand your question?

Skills are getting fixed all the time. Its balance. I think it more has to do with your playstyle. I think you should pick skills/build that suits you and dont look for "overpowered" things. Any skill at any point can be fixed. Either its buff or downgrade.

Nerf is just a stupid word.

I was in Cyrodiil today and did quite a lot of PVE quests in there! Fun too.
I am 37 and it went just fine. I got murdered a few times by roaming enemies who looks for an easy target, but thats the danger of Cyro.

Oh, I found a skyshard too!

DK with Destrostaff is hilariously powerful. Here's a hopefully-useful link.

But there *is* an issue with melee at Veteran ranks. Ranged is simply superior in most circumstances. You take too much damage in melee when you aren't blocking, and you need to stop blocking to do damage in melee, now that bash has been fixed.

Be patient, ZOE is keeping an eye on balance.

I think the problem is more with DW than melee generally; 2H is generally fine at Vet and sword and board isn't too bad either (with a stam build). DW just combines appalling CC with appalling AOE, and so is worse than useless whenever the game dumps you into an area full of 3-man pulls. Of course, the fact that melee favours a Stam build, but class abilities are all Magicka is pretty crippling for most playstyles.

As to the OP - Talons and Impulse. Make sure your gear is decent (you should always be in purples at Vet, no excuses, and should have multiple items of spell damage jewelry), and stack magicka (keeping 1.8k health as a minimum. You can forget Stam). Buy and eat decent food, and pick a sensible Mundus bonus for the play style. Then whenever you have a 3-strong pull, keep them CC'd. You can impulse them if you think it'll kill them before your mana runs out, but try to conserve enough to recast Talons if needed. And don't be afraid to use basic attacks if you have to.

Greens\blues are perfectly fine. No sense investing into upgrading gear that will be obsolete in a couple of days. Then again, I dump all of my gold into expanding inventory\bank space.

You can purple\gold up when you get capped.
