Repentant Son Questline

Hello all,

Looking for a little help with the quest Repentant Son.

Repentant Son I found the journal of a young man named Vareldur in the mine called Dels Claim. He died trying to stop the Heritance from killing the miners there. Perhaps I should travel to Mathiisen, and try to find this mans mother.

When I arrive in Mathiisen, and find the general area where I'm allegedly supposed to "Find Someone Who Knew Vareldur," there's lots of enemies but no intractable characters. I'm level 9, they're level 9, and eventually enough of them get me before I can do a thing.

Anyone have the same problem?

Did you check the area by the tents? There should be 3 or 4 people there with quest arrows that you can interact with.

Hm... haven't seen them. I'm running the quest "The Unveiling" too, though, and for some reason I think it's taking precedence. Will complete then retry...?

This is exactly the problem. I too had issues finding the RPC's for the Vareldur quest until after I completed the Unveiling quest, then all the RPCs for Vareldur showed up by the tents.

Confirmed, I'd forgotten about this thread, but, yes, you need to do The Unveiling before you can properly do Repentant Son. NPCs appear immediately afterward.
