Suggestion for a trade ZONE wide channel

Hi

I tried to send in a suggestion via your company site but it did not want to send, so I am posting it here. I hope this doesn't violate any rules!

My suggestion to add a "trade" channel to the "Zone" channel.

The zone chat has really started to build a community. We chat, get groups, speaks evil things about Zenimax! It works and really adds to the game.

The /zone chat really building a community. Trading is even better in Zone chat then some trade guilds!

I suggest a copy of the zone chat to another channel called "trade". Its important to keep Zone chat just like it is and the trade chat would only be heard in the same zone.

Zone chat is simply overflowing sometimes, witch is great! But I think its time for a trade channel. AND NOT MAKE IT GLOBAL!!!!!

A player based economy isn't just starting, its there and working!

For those who do not want to hear zone chat or trade chat, they can choose to turn them off in the chat options correct?

I want to make sure that this suggestion is not to get more trading going, but zone chat gets a bit clogged and sometimes its things you want to hear. All of it!

I know city Kiosks are in the works and are interested in them. I do not think splitting zone chat with a trade chat will interupt either guild stores or the coming Kiosk feature.

It is VERY important not to make this trade chat server wide. We do not want anything remotly like an Action house.

I hope you listen to my suggestion, and if I was unclear on something, please let me know

A trade for a single /z is useless: Who is gonna use it? What is the incentive to do so?

It is like saying who uses the english /z channel in game? No this game doesn't need a /trade unlike WoW. In WoW the /trade connected multiple areas thus giving a players a reason to use it. Here it would just be a waste of space.

I want to a see a trade tunnel ala EQ 1...an entire zone dedicated for trading, and maybe even finding certain trade goods in the wild.

I disagree. As other polls have shown, the majority of us do want an auction house. I find the current trade guild system to be one of the weakest points of the game, and I typical buy and sell a lot in MMOs.

Edit- what you are asking for is basically the good old trade zones in EQ1. I used to spend tons of time there wheeling and dealing, but I don't miss those days. Just like I don't miss 2 hour corpse runs or being weighed down by your money to a point where you couldn't move. Those systems were fine in 1999, but games have evolved, and I think a guild house really helps build a good game economy.

For sure, it makes the game more fun for me! I like logging in to see items sold and whatnot. It gives me another way to progress in the game beside just leveling and looting stuff.

...that is only because people who run your trade guids /epicfail.

A good trade guild should have everything you need....

The reason for my suggestion is that quite a lot of trading is done via zone chat already. Very nice to actually talk to your buyer or seller.

Please, I do not want this thread to be about any Action house. But I have to correct you and this is the last I go off topic here. There has been several polls about an AH in ESO and they shown a big NO.

The reason for my suggestion is just that a player driven economy is not just forming, but its here. An AH would destroy that.

I agree that the guild stores works well! But lately I have done quite a lot of trading in /zone chat. And the interaction of being a merchant or buyer, adds to an already growing community.

I am sorry to sound harch, but please keep to the subject in this thread.

I want to see guild representative banks where you can purchase goods from guilds, who rent spaces in the zone to sell guild wares that were collected by their members.

This could utilize the system they want to use which is guild stores but open up the guild stores to EVERYONE!

WEll... currently, although randomly it appears, right now people WTS; WTB things and then it is followed up in /z. OTher then the rate of messages that could be a problem to some: I don't have any problems with the current communication system.

THe only problem is trying to find a place that "everyone is" which is not a singular place. Else everthing is "fine" otherwise...

A good trade guild is a micro-economy. I want to have a view of the entire economy, or my faction's anyway. I think there should be both trade guilds and auction houses.

And you are correct, I have yet to find a really good trade guild so far. If you know a good one, send me a PM.

... that would depend if you are EU or USA. I is/was used to know of a relatively good EU one.

And if AH were to be put into place... trade guilds would evaporate overnight.

Oh, I should have said that I play on EU server.

Right now there is quite a lot of buying/selling in zone chat. There is also discussions, looking for group, asking questions. Just what zone chat should be.

I am asking to make a trade chat ZONE ONLY. This is good for those who wants to announce in zone they are buying/selling AND its good for those who like zone chat but wish it was less trading. So people can choose to turn these off and on.

...but there is no reason to use trade. Knowing that some people may not have this new /trade active they will just spam /z. Case in point goldspammers.

This game isn't WoW: The trade channels are not linked. Unless there is a reason to USE /trade it will never get used (nor would it).

The trade guidl "trading claws", whom leader me name forgets, ran a good tight ship. Me had to leave because "I was trying to sell too high" hahaha.

Again, the trade channel would be a copy of zone chat and ONLY reach those in that zone. NOT server wide like WoW (all cities)

I did not consider the fact of golds spammers in trade chat. Maybe that fact alone makes my suggestion moot. But in EU server at least, Its much less gold seller vermin in zone chat.

I want to point out that this suggestion have 2 reasons. 1 of course is to have a trade channel as explained. The other is that it might increase the interaction of the players, which I have seen post asking for by making grouping better.

... and that is reason why we DONT need /trade. IF this channel was only locked into the same zone you are in: THERE IS NO REASON FOR IT!

...just use /z and be done with it already. Adding new channels that have no effective benefit just serves as more lands for goldspammers to occupy.
