Schools of Worship: Additional Skill Lines

This is about the concept of additional skills. I fully support fixing current bugs and broken skills before adding anything new. However, I think there's plenty of room for discussion.

What if each of the Eight Divines (sorry Talos) and each Daedric lord had their own unique set of skills that players could activate? And what if the player could activate this skill line via praying at a unique altar for that god in the game world?

The caveat being that only one deity could be claimed at a time, and if you claim another deity, any points spent in that skill line are automatically refunded to you (here's looking at you, vampire cure!).

These skills would add some flair and novelty to the game, would add more customization to characters, and could bridge the gap over certain playstyles and classes.

For those who don't know, the eight divines are:

Akatosh - The Dragon God of Time and chief god of the pantheon
Arkay - God of Life & Death
Dibella - Goddess of Beauty and Love
Julianos - God of Wisdom and Logic
Kynareth - Goddess of Nature
Mara - Mother-Goddess and Goddess of Love
Stendarr - God of Mercy and Justice
Zenithar - God of Work and Commerce

And the Daedric Princes are:
Azura - Prince of Magic and Dusk and Dawn
Boethia - Lord of Plots and Conspiracies
Clavicus Vile - Prince of Deals and Wishes
Hermaeus Mora - Lord of Knowledge and Memory
Hircine - Prince of the Hunt
Jyggalag - God of Order (Split personality of Sheogorath)
Malacath - Prince of the Pariahs and Spurned
Mehrunes Dagon - Prince of Destruction
Mephala - Lord of Plots and Fate
Meridia - Prince of Light and the Living
Molag Bal - Lord of Domination and Enslavement
Namira - Lord of Abominations and the Repulsive and Cannibals
Nocturnal - Prince of Night and Darkness and Shadows
Peryite - Prince of Pestilence and Order
Sanguine - Lord of Hedonism and Debauchery
Sheogorath - Prince of Madness
Vaermina - Lord of Dreams and Nightmares

Skill examples could include:

Kynareth granting the ability to summon a bear to come to the players defense.
Hircine granting the ability to summon a wolf.
Arkay granting an area revive.
Nocturnal granting a cloak that you can't attack from, but breaks all aggro.
Namira allowing you to gain health from nearby dead bodies.
Molag Bal giving a shackle ability, which roots a player with chain to a certain spot on the ground.

Etc, etc.
Ruze Aulus. Mayor of Dhalmora. Archer, hunter, assassin. Nightblade.
Gral. Mountain Terror. Barbarian, marauder, murderer. Nightblade.
Na'Djin. Knight-Blade. Knight, vanguard, defender. Nightblade.

XBOX NA
Ruze is a veteran of the PC Beta, lived through the year one drought, survived the buy-to-play conversion, and has stepped foot in the hells known as Craglorn. He mained a nightlbade when nightblades weren't good, and has never worn a robe. He converted from PC during the console betas, and hasn't regretted it a moment since.

He'd rank ESO:TU (in it's current state) a 4.8 out of 5, loving the game almost entirely.

This is an multiplayer game. I should be able to log in, join a dungeon, join a battleground, queue for a dolmen or world boss or delve, teleport in, play for 20 minutes, and not worry about getting kicked, failing to join, having perfect voice coms, or being unable to complete content because someone's lagging behind. Group Finder and matchmaking is broken. Take a note from Destiny and build a system that allows from drop-in/drop-out functionality and quick play.

I'd rather say religions as a whole would be a skill line instead of individual aspects.

I much rather they fix all the bugs and exploits before thinking of new skill lines. After they fix all those then and only think look at balancing the game with small nerfs/buffs that are needed. IE dont nerf Templars when the class overall is pretty weak compared to DKs and Sorcs.

Then and only then look at content and new skill lines. Your idea has merit though it is to large. They will be adding spell crafting into game at some point and when they do that, your idea has more merit.

At this point I want more morph choices and more depth to tailoring my abilities to fit my play style. That would be insane to balance though.

So, to not hijack this thread and try to turn it into a complaints-about-the-state-of-the-game thread:

This is the first new skill lines idea that I really, really like. I agree with Anvos that they would probably have to simplify things into Daedra Worship and Aedra Worship lines, but that could be a great new set of skills.

I could get on board with a Zenithar passive to boost vendoring prices, a Stendarr ability that rebukes Daedra and undead (although I suppose the Fighters Guild already gets most of that), a Mehrunes Dagon scorched-earth type ability. Lots of good possibilities.

Not so sure about Jyggalag being in game (since he only exists every 1000 years, and only briefly) but I would LOVE this line of skills. Or a blessing, or really anything to acknowledge the existence of Aedra and Daedra as beings that grant real benefits to their followers. Don't forget the other lines of deities, from the Dunmer, Khajiit, Argonians, etc. who worship gods other than or in addition to the 8 divines and the 17 daedric princes.

Awesome. I would love to have a daedric prince ability or something from the tribunal for example.
