Patch feedback - Armor appearance after the patch

mwiewandtb14a_ESO
I wanted to provide feedback about a change to gear this patch. My lower level characters really look terrible now. I read a patch change to improve the look of higher level armor, but was it necessary to make existing gear ugly?

I had a very nice looking set of armor. I wasn't the highest level, but was taking my time and enjoying my character's look and feel. I went to log in after the patch, and suddenly he looks like gold paint was swabbed all over his armor. The appearance is, frankly, quite hideous. I logged in and saw that everyone now looks pretty horrible in their new armor.

I do not see ruining the appearance of lower level armor to be a "fix" for higher level armor. I beg you to please, please revert this change.

I don't mean this feedback to be negative, but I do want to express how deeply upsetting this change is to me. If others agree, please post here so that we can get these concerns to the developers. If I am wrong and you do not agree, I'd love to hear that too... maybe my perception is way off.

It sounds like they mixed up their colour pallet and colour scheme on the armour. I've read that some people have my gold and black looking armour at very low levels, while once you get higher, they all change to brown and brown-yellow.
Also, leaked footage of how they made the new armour.

It's horrible. They were supposed to make VR armor look better. I don't remember anyone saying that all lower than VR armor would be changed to look like hobo clothes. Variety was stripped and we were given the absolutely worst color scheme.

I think the armor looks fantastic now at all levels. It appears to be one of the few bright spots of this patch imo.

Well I, for one, find this change to be a bit dishonest, unless it was unintentional. It is not mentioned anywhere before, or after, the application of this update.

And I wholeheartedly agree that the change is most certainly a detraction from our gameplay experience. There does not seem to be a difference between the color schemes of level 1 armors and level 14 armors of the same style anymore, for instance. And the full suite of blue shades that I had JUST CRAFTED YESTERDAY AND WAS VERY SATISFIED WITH on my sorcerer, including 3 pieces of Death's Wind cloth armor, was a most-welcome change from the drab and tiresome shades of green that I had been bored with for 4 weeks. Then I log on this evening find to myself in a full suite of......green shades...... And everyone else is running around in washed-out, muted jokes of armor pieces that are not even a pale reflection of what were already lusterless and limited outfit options, previously.

Kudos to the OP for trying to remain positive, but I am feeling quite disappointed, as a lower level player right now. This is the first I have heard that the issue MAY only be affecting the lower levels, but regardless, I really hope that Zenimax quickly and earnestly corrects what must, surely, be a "bug," or unintentional side-effect of this update. At this point, it is only the thorough enjoyment (despite the overwhelming bot problems!) and appreciation for what has the potential to be one of the best MMO's of all time that I was experiencing prior to this most-deflating of developments that is keeping me even slightly optimistic about the possibility of such a "fix."
