What is the point of deadly bash if fully specced does less dmg than 1h swing?

I don't care about jewelry, I don't use it. But you also nerfed how much base damage bash did when not interrupting. If you are using it just for an interrupt, it doesn't matter how much damage it does. It's utility.

But if you spend points to make it something you can spam and double it's damage, it still costs stamina, so what purpose does the Deadly Bash passive serve, if a bash still does less damage than a swing?

I'm going to spoil it for you. It serves no purpose. You have passive that should never be taken because you've removed the ability to convert bash from an interrupt into a stamina using attack (which was obviously the intent of the passive).

Base bash damage needs to be restored. Or add a new passive that grants a damage bonus after interrupting an attack or blocking a charge attack, a big one that lasts for a good 10+ seconds.

I was actually wondering this exact same thing. What is the point of deadly bash now? I would like a dev to let us know what they feel the purpose of the ability is. Even with points fully invested in Deadly bash it's simply not worthwhile to use for damage at all, (which is exactly what it seemed to be for in the first place), and it's cost reduction seems less than useful because interrupting is simply not something you need to do very often. Not to mention it is just more cost effective to side step and just light attack.

I dont think they really intended for it to do alot of damage. That passive also reduces the cost a ton. It is still a good passive, however, in my tests, the damge isnt seeming to add up right. 52dmg without +100% dmg but its only coming out to 86dmg per bash on non interrupts

I'm not saying that it was meant to do "a lot" of damage...

But clearly the passive was meant to make it deal more damage. Even if it was only the same amount of damage as puncture. Which makes sense because this is the shield tree.

It only reduces the cost by 40% which is nearly half, but they also reduced the amount of times you would ever use it by a lot because it's only worthwhile for an interrupt. If I'm only using bash as an interrupt then the reduction doesn't matter much, and the damage being (soft capped?) from just the passive and only adding ~5 from each bash glyph means that a 3 glyph 2 skill point investment equals 50 more damage... well that is just silly and worthless.

So again, what is the point of deadly bash now? Not being sarcastic or anything, I would really like to know what the dev's plan is for it? Do Craglorn enemies cast spells 400% more often or something?
