Public Service Announcement: Do Cyrodiil Dailies

There are 5 towns in Cyrodiil that have daily repeatable quests.

These towns are Cheydinhal, Chorrol (includes Weynon Priory), Cropsford, Bruma, and Vlastrus.

I know some of you already know this, but I've been shocked at how many people don't know about these quests (through talking to people on forums, in various TS channels, ect.)

The quests in these towns have scaling XP and Veteran Point rewards as well as scaling gold and loot rewards. Unlike the PvE zones, this means you can never out level the content.

Whats better is: the Veteran Point rewards have been buffed for all Cyrodiil dailies in the latest patch. I'll take a bit of the credit for suggesting that, thank you very much.

Are you one of those people who's sick of zone based questing? Feel like the PvE content is a grind? Don't want to level alts by going through the exact same process? Don't like the "grind" of the Veteran Zones? Questing through enemy zones not appealing to you? Prefer sandbox MMOs? Enjoy open world PvP? Sick of the constant zerg vs zerg?

COME TO CYRODIIL AND DO DAILIES!!!!!

They are amazing good fun. There's great rewards, interesting stories if you like them, easy to skip repeatable quests if you don't, and the thrill of fearing enemy players will gank you at any moment.

Cyrodiil is perhaps the best zone in the game. Its beautiful, large, and feels more like an Elder Scrolls sandbox than any other zone in ESO.

So please. Come do them. Do them often. Bring your friends. Come in small groups. Do them every day!!!!

PS.

Yes, my main reason for wanting you all to come there is so I can kill and to be killed by you. These towns are the absolute best spot to find small scale PvP in this game. Hopefully with the increased VP rewards, they'll be getting even more active.

    Why would I hide it?

I want to kill you. I want you to try to kill me. If you're on my side I'd like to do quests with you while we're killed and try to kill.

I have a group of 12 people that sit around these dailies waiting for players to talk to the quest giver.

It gets kind of funny at times... 12 people all stealthed circling a quest NPC.

We see one guy come in to pick up or turn in a quest... and we all jump him.

    Absolutely terrible... true.

    But funny to watch.

"Wait guys... hold it... wait for it... OK NOW!!"

Picture your bait NPC saying "I'm sorry, they forced me to do it. I had no choice."

Yeah... and that's what sucks about it, and why people have been wanting controlled arena small-scale PvP. When it's 1 guy trying to quest against a dozen stealthed opponents.. and if he's talking to the NPC, of course he has no buffs, no defense, is totally vulnerable... yeah, great fun.

I'll try the PvE quests perhaps, on a server we completely own and thus have less chance of enduring that kind of fun-killing crap.

Well I've never seen a large group camping them in my travels.

Sure maybe it happens, but its not widespread.

Its usually just a few people and you find good even fights.

If you get ganked by 12 people, go to the next town.

I mostly solo when I PK people; since launch my biggest group in Cyrodiil has been 2.

I consider PvE quests to be the fun-killing crap -- that is why when I got to these areas I never actually do the quests.

Don't worry... we are finding on our server that we jump a few guys, and then a group of 10-20 come rolling in searching for us. We've actually had enemies send one person to trip the trap, then nuke us with AOE and damage.

It gets to be fun times... as they then move towards our closest keep to intercept us returning.... and the PvP returns back to the main field.

I still home in goldbrand. Just completed my cryodiil hero achievement last night assuming that the mobs buffed to vr5 would make it more annoying to complete.

I'd enjoy meeting up to duel. Maybe you can be the first to be able to take me down 1v1

The thing is, I wouldn't mind it quite so much if it didn't take so darn long to get to these places. I rez somewhere, ride for several minutes, head on my hand, leaning on the desk as the glacial-seeming journey over relatively bland landscape takes place... I *finally* get to the place, dismount, am all set to finally get going... and get ganked by some V10 squad looking to just wipe the floor with sub-50s like me. I get rooted instantly, and sit there pounding buttons in some attempt to free up and at least ping somebody before it's over, and I'm dead in seconds...

rinse, repeat, and it's back to the ride... maybe to another town sure, hoping it doesn't happen again.

The only thing I do in Cyrodiil now is help defend keeps against invasions. At least I can get a few minutes of play in, manning a siege engine up on a wall, and not be one-shotted by some V10 Vamp DK Whatever-he-is. And don't get me wrong, I do enjoy that and it's fun RP to fend off an attack or rush back to the keep when the outer wall falls, etc - can be quite dramatic and fun.

But I kind of wish I could try other stuff before I'm a V10 and not simply be gank-bait!

Do the pve quests on a less populated server. There's usually a few people about doing them but not groups waiting to camp people

You get an occasional VR10 camping them, but it is kinda rare. All in all great fun.

My favorite story involves a former DC Emperor (who I won't name because ZOS has an odd policy about that and I'm not sure what triggers it.)

He kept coming to Bruma where me and my buddy Rizzla were questing. We killed him 5 times in a row. You could tell he was raging because he kept coming back with buddies. He brought one, then two, then 3. So we called in a 3rd and the 3 of us killed all 3 of them.

After his 5th death, I guess he'd had enough. He called in his whole guild and literally zerged Bruma with 30+ people.

We died laughing. He was so mad he brought his whole guild out.

I'm kinda new - have a few characters just over level 10 so am going to confess to being a noob and ask a noob question: How do you tell the population of a campaign?
I can see that Wabbajack has a lot of activity but what about the others?

Just press L and navigate to the campaign tabs. The more "bars" they have the bigger the population. Just like your internet connection.
