Mysterious AP/VP in Cyrodiil

Have anyone ever get those mysterious AP/VP from Cyrodiil?
Sometimes when I was walking, even far away from my group, I get some AP / VP (sometimes a large amount up to 4k AP)!
I don't know where those come from... I did not stand near any big events like capturing fort or anything. Sometimes it just appear when I died and just reborn at the keep.
Anyone know what those AP/VP are rewarded for?

Anyway, it still didn't explain getting 3k-4k AP though

maholi✭✭✭One more tip. You get more AP solo than in a zerg. You have to split that number with 20 people if you are in a group of 20. If a guy is worth 800 points and I kill him solo I get all 800. If I am in a zerg of 20, I get 800 divided by 20... so 40. And if multiple people attack you split the number accordingly. Small groups are good though since it's nice to have back-up with you.1

Eylith✭✭✭I got 50k+ AP the other day, I still didn't figure out why. I gained a complete level (7 --> 8 ), more than 15 PvP rewards at once, and a lot of PvP money. I was roaming next to a contested scroll, I guess this have to do something with it ...

3-4K sounds like a valid defense number.
