Impenetrable Light Armor: Is It Really That Rare?

First of all, yeah you got your Bearhide Moccasins. That must be some kind of quest reward. We all have Impenetrable Light Feet.

But for every other piece, man, I'm starting to doubt it even exists.

I have four pieces. Funnily enough, not shoes, I don't even know which quest they're connected to (if they are indeed a quest reward).

man I can't for the life of me find any other trait on light head armor besides infused

Infused is the most common of them all is why. For some of the traits I've been struggling with I went through my small guilds bank and pulled ALL the set pieces for light armor we had, which was a lot and found quite a few traits for various pieces I have never been able to find in normal drops or quest rewarrds. Perhaps some just are super rare and/or only on a few specific quest rewar4ds or set pieces, and most people usually dont research destroy set pieces..

Nah, they're rare-ish, but not nearly as rare as infused/divines heavy armor is.

i have all for light armor with 1 Sturdy Glove missing in the bank or already learnt so they are in the game

Not as rare as you might think. It's all determined on loot creation @ time of mob kill via RNG. It doesn't really favor one over another. I've got about 5 of them now. I'd say your best bet is to just message up in zone chat that your looking for someone with trait X on item Y. Toss em 500g or something as thanks and bam, there's your research.

It is most def way more complex then just all of them being equally random. Some traits for sure are far more common for certain types of armor then others, weapons and staves do the same thing.

the best way is to offer money in zone chat though. Or ask guildies. I usually offer a few hundred gold and get whatever I'm asking for.

This isn't entirely true. There's also fixed quest loot and it's clear that some traits are favored on certain types of armor. On heavy I have fully researched reinforced and impenetrable, but very few infused and divines pieces. On medium I have full well-fitted, on light full infused. Exploration seems to be rare across the board. Just ask in zone chat or in guilds, they're overflowing with some traits, but others are quite difficult to come by.

I'm relatively low level, but at least SO FAR I have not found a dagger with Defending on it... which I suppose makes sense as ~most~ daggers aren't really that well suited to defending... some kind of Parrying Dagger might have that Trait, I suppose. It's looking to be my 8th trait for Daggers, at this point.

I have a pretty good mix of traits, but I have noticed some seem very common (well-fitted on everything) and some seem rather hard to come by (divines on medium armour), but all in all it doesn't seem to be much more than RNG. Each faction will end up with their own set of "guaranteed" traits via quest rewards, but I find that random loot off mobs or out of chests seems pretty much like rolling a dice.

I do wish the dice would roll for a fire staff below defending, though...7-8 traits on all other woodworking stuff researched or banked and still only 5 fire staff. >.<

LOL, so true. Exploration on heavy in particular is incredibly rare. Medium armor not so rare, I have almost every med armor piece researched with explorarion on two characters now. Have only been able to get 3 pieces of heavy with exploration, one feet and two headgear.

I have all the light armor traits (or at least researchable) except for light head impenetrable, I'm sure one day ill get my hands on it!

Wow I just realized I have Light Chest and Boots with Impenetrable, everything else is missing just that trait only... WTF.
