Maintenance for the week of September 7:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – September 7

Suggestion: If using home tours to port, consider taking a look at the house.

I don't think my house has had any visitors since Essential Housing Community shut down, due to the person funding and running it being let go from ZOS.

Once, before, I visited my place and found like 10 or 11 people strolling through doing what seemed like a tour.

Absolutely nuts.

Now I use home tours mostly as quick zone port options for alts, but I look around, at homes that aren't currently in the recommended rotation, and I've seen some absolutely beautiful work with so much attention to detail.

Obviously there are also a lot of headache-inducing chaotic homes, but this post is really a reminder to occasionally look around, there are so many now that probably never get looked at, that are either really creative or hilarious, and it's a pity.

The owners would definitely appreciate recommendations too.

I'm doing my part.

Yes, I visit other people's houses all of the time. Mostly to get some inspiration of my own. Always put on recommended list when I like one. I put a few of my finished houses on the list and I got a couple likes but not much. :(

I use home tours for ports but I always view the home and leave recommendation.

    Great system.

I did not realize we can use home tours for ports...I've just been using BeamMeUp for this as I assumed it would kick you out to your last known location like if you don't own a house but are just previewing it.

My primary reason for traveling to people's houses is to view the house. Some evenings, I will just get on and go from house to house looking for inspo. I usually don't browse the recommended and start from the bottom of the list. I've seen some absolutely stunning, creative work. I do flee immediately if I realize I'm not alone because I don't want the owner scrutinizing me while checking their house out, lol.

Sometimes when the mood strikes, I send a mail with some gold with lore-appropriate comments on how much and which details my Khajiit enjoyed the most. I've had some lovely replies back! I recommend everyone do this.

Yeah it used to do that, but with Home Tour release or shortly after, IDK, you exit in the zone where it's located, unless it's content you don't own/have access to.

No more begging for Coldharbour ports on new characters, and easier to get around in general.

I once did the opposite. I ported to one of my listed houses and found a visitor inside. I was thrilled but immediately fled.

i think the dumping you where you were was only for previewing a house

if you visited another players house and leave the door, you exit in the zone the house is in unless you dont own the dlc

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the home tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, aetherial well, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

I've not tried Home Tours yet. I really enjoyed the Open Houses of the Essential Housing Community and didn't want to change but I may give it a look.

I just don't want my houses used just for quick transport. I want visitors to actually look at what I've done with them.

If I use Home Tours for a port, mostly on Xbox since I dont have as many of my own houses to jump to, I always look around and recommend the house. I feel like its the least I can do.

I've been to houses where people have managed to block the exit lmao. You could do that.

That's a fun workaround that made me laugh, but I don't want to mess up my build.

I use homes for ports and always hit recommend if i land in a well done house. You can just see all the time and effort into making it so nice.

It's irritating to land in a house like this. It shouldn't be a thing if you're listing on Home Tours. It's just trolling and could easily stop the good parts of being listed.

It's not trolling to take steps to prevent a house that has been listed to be appreciated for the work the player has put into it from being used as free transportation. That is using Home Tours for a purpose that was not intended.

They should just make exiting houses accessed through Home Tours drop the player back off where they were before entering like previewing empty houses does.
