Has anyone bought the Wraithtide Horse?

I know the crowns are worth it but is the horse? I`m not into horses but I have a few, just wondering is it worth it.

Looks sort of like Arvak. I am tempted. Would have gotten it with seals of endeavors if it was in the crown crates like the other mounts with that style.

Yes, but I think it's the wrong question. You're basically getting a 25% discount on 11K crowns (two 5500 crown packs) with a horse thrown in. I can't think of anyone who would spend the $60 for the horse and say, "and 11K crowns? Meh!"

But for those who are horse lovers, they might want to know what it does before buying it. There are lessons in this game about getting something and it turns out to be a dull item.

It is worth it if you:

Really really want that horse
You will buy Crowns at any discount

That’s about it.

The Wraithtide crates have a bunch of other mounts in that style, but no horse. If you want one, you can use Seals/Gems for that.

Otherwise it’s buying $60 worth of Crowns for a slight discount. There isn’t normally a $60 pack, but this does give 180 Crowns per dollar (around 27ish% cheaper than an equivalent pack would be)

It’s not in the Crown Store.

You will need to buy that the same way you buy Crowns out-of-game, depending on your plaform.

Yeah, 25% off two 5500 crown packs is not quite the same thing as 40% off a 21K pack. Better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick (or regular retail), I suppose.

Way too expensive for me right now as well.
Also, I can get a full game for that price + DLCs if the game has any.

Yes, it is around 25-27% discount for that amount of crowns, but feels too much for an ingame currency in this economy.

I wouldn't use the mount with most of my characters, but I can see using it with my Necromancer characters.

As for the Crowns, I believe there is a new house coming out at the end of the month, which I think makes the Crowns pretty enticing-- unless you've already got plenty of Crowns on hand for the house, or have no intentions of purchasing it. I haven't checked it out yet, since I don't have the PTS installed, but I'm looking forward to checking it out when it becomes available.

This feels like a cynical "harvesting" ploy instead of offering a proper crown sale. I won't be buying crowns outside of a sale and won't be renewing my sub when it goes until I'm convinced this game isn't entering maintenance mode (all signs point in the opposite direction atm, including this latest "pack").

Ofc a 40% discount on 21k is better, but a 25% discount is better then no discount at all.

And I wouldn't count on seeing these kind of big(ger) discounts again, at least not soon.

If for some reason I wanted to buy 11k crowns at once I'd probably go for this bundle because of the discount, but I wouldn't get it for the hose. It looks ok, just not my thing, I don't think any of my characters would choose to ride it. (I don't have any of the other wraithtide mounts for the same reason.)

But I only buy crowns during sales, so I'd be comparing the discount on that pack to the discounts on the standard packs, and between that and how many crowns I typically want at any one time it's unlikely I'd choose this one. Also I've still got crowns left over from last sale, so it's going to be a while before I even need to think about it.

Meanwhile I'm more intrigued by this:

I never buy crowns, those I get from ESO+ more than cover the few shop items I ever have any urge to buy. And the horse is ugly. I could buy a whole new game on steam for that amount.

Sure, it's a crown discount and the horse is extra. But if you wouldn't buy crowns otherwise, then it's a $60 horsey that doesn't even come with proper armor.

I got one pack which my hubby and I share the crowns from (both parties require gifting enabled, of course). We usually do this with larger packs in the sales - one pack between us. My necromancer cat uses the horse.

It's a 25% discount only for US players. For us EU players, it is a mere 13%.

That would certainly feel good at first, but we have to pay the piper one way or another. For the sake of maintaining ZOS’s remaining workforce and resources this would likely not be the wisest choice, especially after Asha Sharma said she expects the opposite. The unfortunate catch of corporate ownership when said owner is unhappy with revenue decreasing after significant investments.
