I always gone one, every single day, for a few years now. I always put them up for sale on the trader after I got them. Now I haven't gotten a single one for days in a row.

I think i got one today or previous day.

If you got one every time, you were on a very lucky streak. I haven't kept stats, but I'd guess drop odds of 1:10 to 1:20? Seems about right for a purple motif.

I'll throw in another plea here for such things to be curated, though!

I didn't used to get one every day but I got them often enough that I didn't want to open the chest because I was tired of getting them. I'm surprised to hear from others they are a regular drop rate.

This chest i opened also every day for years now and got nearly every day a motif out of it. At most 5 times a year not, but have not counted. Did put them always in a guild bank, till the (14) stacks had reached around 50-60 each. Since then i sold them direct to a npc (was sick of go to the bank and the "take out, merge and put in"-thing every day - almost).
In the latest past, i would say roundabout since Nightmarket or a little later, it has changed (for me in a pleasent way) to somewhat between a 1:5 and 1:10 chance (as mentioned above, maybe).
For me it seemed to be that they reduced the loot chance because it was too high for some (long) time.
And i cannot imagine a lucky streak that lasts for years. I'm sorry, but i don't believe that.
They still dropping, but very much less often now. I would bet there was a change in drop chance some updates before, because it was abrupt and is staying equal since then.

But it's true. I got one every day for as long as I remember. It's only been the past week or so that they stopped appearing. Not getting my daily motif was so unusual that it prompted me to ask about it.

Oh, i believe you. Absolutly. That's why i posted, i cannot imagine, that we both just had a lucky streak for that long.
Only thing is, for me it has changed a little longer before, than only since just a week. A bit mystical.

I think originally it was a guaranteed drop every day, and I seem to recall you got that green style mat Aeonstone Shard from Southern Elsweyr every day too. I think it was changed some time ago, maybe a few months or something like that. I was so happy to stop getting the New Moon Priest style pages all the time because I had to vendor them as they were worthless after some period of time.

@ZOS_Kevin Was the drop rate on these motifs changed?

Back when I did remember to loot that chest with one character every day, I got the motif ALMOST every day, so often that the very occasional time I didn’t get one I assumed the chest was bugged that day.

I didn’t record any data until after they fixed the bug where there was a motif cooldown on top of the box cooldown, but since then it has definitely not been a 100% drop chance for a motif.

I have gotten 50 motif pages from 95 recorded boxes (52.63%). And that wasn’t counting the gold book I got from a box before I started noting down what I pulled.

ETA: this is not the most recent 95 days’ worth of boxes. These were 95 random days in the past few years, since the fix for the motif cooldown.

I started checking again recently thanks to your thread, and so far I've got one each day. All motifs that I'd already unlocked and not any of the ones I'm still missing of course, but that's nothing new!
