Lore doesn't matter if game mechanics are what they are. *shrug*

And like I said before, as far is ESO is concerned, ZOS supports "weaving"/animation cancelling officially.

Of course you might prefer a game without this 'feature'. I don't think about it because i can't change it.

Concerning carry addons, that's a point we can agree on. But that's not hard for me, because I play on PS and first we never had any addons and now I am used to play without them.

    Edit for typo

Just watch what happens to you when the cross platform play comes into effect - addons affecting PvP gameplay should be banned and not allowed. Macros too, I was surprised to see certain sweats running macros - they were executing 3 different abilities along with light weaves in the time it normally takes to do one.

Let’s just go back to actually playing the game instead of having software do it for us, yeah?

Also majority of the time, molten whip does 6500 damage on average. Unless you’re running some high penetration set or orders wrath/acuity with molag keena or some similar monster set and onslaught, molten whip damage really isn’t that high/much of a problem. It’s squishy casuals who don’t know how to deal with it that get hit loads off molten whip and complain. Use the right gear/traits/cp and block at the right times and you won’t be taking 15k + whips.

You are just making up random numbers. Where are you getting the average of 6,500 from? Maybe yours is that weak, but that is just some arbitrary number. In addition, you mentioned sorc sustain as the strongest by far yet you're wrong about this as well. Also, nobody said whip is applied faster because of animation canceling, it's because it doesn't have a travel time. Almost every single thing you posted was wrong.

Stop lying, average Molten Whip is 6-7k and if you have the 3 stacks on it, sure it can go to hit for 10k and can reach 13-15k if the enemy is fully debuffed etc.
If molten whip is doing any more damage then people are in the wrong gear, wrong traits and cp or you caught them in onslaught with the instant fear scribe.

Nightblade can still hit for 10-15k with merciless, warden can do over 10k bursts with deep fissures and vamp spammable, etc.
These abilities are much harder and nearly impossible to see and block in time in PvP unlike Molten Whip which is very easy to deal with.

Blastbones can do very high burst too.
Crystal frags if you get the damage boost proc can hit as hard as a molten whip.

Obviously if you’re going against casuals who have no clue what they’re doing then you might hit them for crazy numbers but you would hit noobs with crazy numbers on anything you play if you know what you’re doing.

DK doesn’t have as good sustain as Sorc does or even Necro.
Be honest about what you main because it’s going to be one of these and you just don’t like the fact DKs can finally kill you.

The only thing other than Flame Lash that needed a nerf is perhaps Heart Of Flame cos it’s lame, rest are easy to deal with.

You are the one who is lying. You are making the claim about the average number so the burden of proof is on you. Where is your proof it is hitting on average for those numbers? You are quite literally just picking a number out of thin air and claiming it is the average.

Notice your argument pattern? Nightblade CAN hit for 10-15k merciless. Why are you talking about DK average and then shifting to what is possible for NB? DK CAN whip for over 30k, there are videos on it. You keep bringing up other skills without acknowledging DK whip has a higher tooltip at max than all of the prior ones mentioned. What is your rationale for mentioning all these skills that hit for less than DK other than just to obfuscate or filibuster?

On to your next wrong point. DK's sustain on live with CoF is better than Sorcs with CoE, if you want to shift to PTS values, CoF is nerfed to 12% and CoE is nerfed to 1.5% max. CoF is stronger in both instances, live and PTS. You just don't know what you are talking about and I don't get why so many people who are confidently wrong just come on the PTS so spew random numbers or random claims with literally zero proof.

Even if there are videos online showing allegedly 30k whips that proves nothing. We dont know the CP and build of each player involved, the backbar sets their groupmates are running (if they are part of a group), whether or not the players portrayed on the said videos are even PVPers and not random PVEers in a PVP area trying to complete a quest or an achievement, their skill level, etc.

How about you be a pet and tell us all how you can consistently and reliably 30k whips on people :D

Sorc sustain is better than DK's, no sorc runs out of resources now ever - Streak doesn't do those 10-15k bursts all the time obviously but its certainly capable of doing them which is the point I am trying to make. A skill like streak should not be possible to pull off these numbers. A skill that has super low cost for what it offers that you can just spam (u wont need to use it more than 3-4 times anyways to create enough distance and heal again) to run away and undo your mistakes and not die. Theres no class atm that is able to catch this no matter what major expedition skill they choose to use to chase it. God forbid this is happening in an uneven area or a some of the BG maps with all them bridges and stuff.
If DK wings of buffet were doing this damage the crying of sorc mains would be heard all the way to Mars.
Tell you what how about we adjust Wing Buffet to be just like Streak - instant, 3.5k magicka cost and teleport. 1000% everyone asks for it to be nerfed.

So yeah please tell us all how to be good like you and hit everyone for 30k whips, cos the average Molten Whip most dks are doing is between 6-7k dmg.

Anyway youre claim streak is fine and not overpowered at all, you know youre trolling, you dont need me to tell you that.

There is a video of a dude who took a 41k whip ON THESE VERY FORUMS that insta-killed him in a 1 on 1 situation in IC.

The dude verifiably had 40k health, and over-cap resistance.

There isn't a SINGLE CP that is active at the beginning of an opening attack that would bring that whip to serviceable numbers.

Okay so again, you are having trouble following the conversation. There is proof of whips hitting that hard. YOU are the one who made the claim about the average hit of whip. Are you still following. YOU made the claim. The burden of proof is on YOU. Does that not make sense to you? Then you called me a liar. If I am lying substantiate anything. If you don't understand how to follow the conversation, which you obviously don't, because you are making yet another claim that didn't even happen when you said I commented on the balance of streak, which I didn't, then just read through the conversation again until you figure out what is being said. Also, the math behind CoE and CoF is just... math. There is objective truth to it, unlike your claims of averages with zero proof.

Main DK abilities cost more magicka than Sorc ones do.
    c2s7wrbjejat.png

On average over 60% of the BGs pop is on sorcs, got tons of screenshots like that.

Despites the unnecessary crying about DKs, most people are actually on Sorcs in PVP now due to how overtuned streak and the passives are.
Imp city, BGs, Cyro full of them. DK is capable of killing them and is the main reason behind the crying. Havent seen all these Sorc/WW mains here complaining about arcanists sad state in PVP for example ;)

Since 40k whips are so common on DKs why cant either of you 2 tell everyone how to do achieve them?

Can you try, just try, for once, actually answering what YOU brought up.

I can post 85 different screenshots where at least 6 out of 12 players in those 3 man team deathmatches have been Sorcs but it will flood the thread.

Molten Whip's damage is fine, if youre taking 40k off it youre doing something wrong and clearly dont know how to block it. And if 40k whip damage is easy then tell everyone how you do it :D

Again, not sure what's being lost here, not sure if you just don't understand basic English, but this doesn't prove the average hit of whip. It proves ONE fight in which the average YOU got hit for was 6k. That is literally all. Please, learn to actually substantiate anything with real proof.

Again, this is one screenshot of one battle. This proves nothing. This is not the overall average hit of frags and neither did you post the overall average hit of whip for all people like you previously claimed. You never claimed you get hit with whip for 6k, you never claimed you get hit with frag for x amount.

All you claimed was what the average hit of whip was. If you want to change your claim go ahead, but your screenshots prove nothing.

Wrong. They prove that you or whoever the screenshots are of took that amount of damage. That's literally all they prove. Are you being intentionally obtuse or do you actually not understand that? I assume it's the former because you already brought up builds so you are well aware changing the builds of both the person dealing damage as well as the person taking damage would change the damage values of both skills.

Doesn't change anything. In fact it just makes the proof that much worse. Still just a single person's data. Does nothing for the overall average of the skill which was your initial claim.

The screenshot showing a 6k average Whip hit doesn't establish that Whip "averages 6k against players" in general. It only shows that your particular build averaged 6k across the particular hits shown in your screenshot.

And that's especially problematic when the screenshot only contains three total Whip hits. Three hits is an incredibly small sample size and isn't remotely enough to establish a meaningful PvP average. Three unusually high hits can easily produce a 6k average without that number being representative of anything.

There are also much bigger variables involved. Whip damage isn't a fixed number that every player is going to take. It depends on the attacker's build—weapon/spell damage, penetration, buffs, etc.—as well as the target's build, including resistances, mitigation, buffs, other defensive stats or whether the target was blocking.

A Whip hitting a relatively squishy player is obviously going to produce a different result than the same Whip hitting someone built heavily into resistance and survivability. Change the attacker's build and the damage changes again.

So there isn't really a meaningful universal "average Whip hit against players" unless you first define what you're averaging over. What attacker builds? What target builds? CP or no-CP? What buffs/debuffs are active? How many hits? How many different players? Are crits included? How representative is the sample?

You can't take three hits from one player's build and use that to claim "Whip averages 6k against players."

    At most, the screenshot demonstrates:

"These three Whips averaged 6k against these particular targets under these particular circumstances."

That's an observation about one tiny sample, not a statistical average for ESO PvP as a whole.

If you want to make a claim about the average PvP Whip hit, you'd need a substantially larger and representative sample while accounting for the attacker and target builds. Otherwise, calling 6k "the average" is simply taking anecdotal results and presenting them as a universal statistic.

Doesn't change anything. In fact it just makes the proof that much worse. Still just a single person's data. Does nothing for the overall average of the skill which was your initial claim.

Just accept that Sorcs are the stronger and most popular class, that is why they was the first to be reworked and was the Emperor yesterday killing groups of 20 people with 6 people (i received 10000 damage only from corrosive, i was a full tank WW with Torc of Ayleid King unique 15% damage reduction)

Sarcasm doesn't work when unironically half the forum posters can't differentiate between it and a serious statement. The person posting a single screenshot of a single fight with 3 whips as "proof" of whip hitting for an average of 6k is going to read what you posted and 100% assume you are agreeing with him. It's tragic honestly.

I have a quick question @NovelliESO - why are y’all lingering in the ‘week 2’ thread?

No shade at all, simply curious on what the overall picture is. I mean, whip was WAY overtuned- we’re past that now.

Whip is still absolutely fine at 75% of its previous value. I’ll be honest in that it could have been given the Mercliess ‘travel time’ treatment at max stacks and coming from a long-time NB player (I play/played most everything consistently at some point), that would have been FAR worse than this very justifiable damage nerf.

If anything, we should be focusing further attention on CoF and CoE both of which still encourage ‘running without recovery’ for max damage.

My apologies, i forgot how people can understand that i was supporting the "nerf sorcs" nonsense, you have a point, i will try to add /s to make it more obvious

Because of this absurdly wrong comment from 2 days ago. Also, even though week 3 exists, that doesn't target the same things. Regardless, it was bumped on the 21st and if someone is saying something as egregiously wrong as this, I am going to point it out.

Apologies not necessary, what I said was slightly in jest, but the people on here legitimately can't follow a simple conversation, adding sarcasm to the mix just makes it completely out of their ability.
