Major Experience Commendations

Why don't these items stack? I don't currently have a companion to level up, so I purchased them with Tome Points and banked them for future use. I never imagined they would take up so much bank space!

I completely agree with this.

It makes no sense for these consumables to take up individual inventory or bank slots, especially since we often have to stockpile them while waiting for new companions to be released.Having them non-stackable is a massive and unnecessary drain on bank space.

Hopefully, ZeniMax can look into this and change their stacking behavior in a future patch, just like they do with standard experience scrolls.

These *need* to stack.

I put in a /bug about it when I got the first set, but I can only imagine we'll get more and more of them over time, especially if we don't get a new Companion for a while.

I agree it's a real pain.

I thought about not buying them yet because I have the premium tome, but then the points come out of a future season when I have spares now. if it's another 2 years before we get new companions that would be a big lump of points to find. It’s also going to be a lot of bank spaces to keep tied up.

A lot of things have been added to the Tomes without proper player input, testing or feedback. It seems a lot of half-backed ideas were quickly thrown into the season battlepass. Not that anyone wanted or needed a battlepass system in the first place. Major Experience Commendations are case-in-point.

I collected the Companion commendations from the Tomes believing I could use them to level my Sharp-as-NIght's other weapon and armor skills. Sadly, they don't work that way. Companion experience only applies to the overall companion level and is worthless to players who already have all the companions leveled. Now I'm stuck with non-stacking, space-hogging items that will only ever have any value in the future, IF (and it's a huge "IF") there are ever any more companions added to the game.

Oh, that I did not know. At least I can destroy the ones I have and not bother 'purchasing' the ones on this tome.

I thought they would lvl the skill lines as well (other than the guild ones). Thanks for sharing this info, much appreciated.

I'll second the OP's idea here. I cannot think of any good reason why scrolls won't stack and five of those puppies from Season Zero are hogging five Bank slots to no good purpose (didn't know they wouldn't stack when I bought them). The basic idea was like Riding Lessons, research scrolls, and the like which might be useful at some point in the future: maybe we get some new companions, maybe I make a new toon, and I don't mind sacrificing a slot against that possible future. But five slots is just a bit much of an ask.

Last I recall hearing, the official word was “no current plans” or thereabouts. I think it’s even less likely we’ll see them anytime in the foreseeable future after the layoffs and what was already on the roadmap having to be pushed so far out. Maybe one day?

I definitely think that we'd get new Companions if we ever got new Classes, but that's decently far off the roadmap itself.

They've confirmed that the Class Refreshes are the priority for combat, so no new Combat features (e.g. skill lines or Classes) will be made while the Refreshes are ongoing... and now the Refreshes are getting delayed even longer.

In 2030, these will drop from the reward coffer for your first Random Solo Dungeon for the day so I would just delete them.
