Converting transmutes to nirncrux and other rare materials - is it an exploit?

So I have alot of transmute crystals on all of my alts, wanted to get rid of them and convert them to nirncrux and aurbic amber.
Was wandering if we had any clarification from ZOS about this convertion method, is it considered as exploit or an in game mechanic?

Don't want to get baned for cleanining up my bagpacks

[The method is even mentioned at uesp pages so it kinda looks legit:
"Transmute crystals can be used to convert common dropped and crafted gear to a rare trait such as Nirnhoned or Swift, and subsequently deconstruct them for a chance to obtain Nirncrux or pulverized Gilding Wax, making this an alternative method for collecting rare or expensive trait materials if you have a surplus of transmute crystals."]

Nope, not an issue at all. This has been a widely-known method of using up your transmutes for quite some time.

I've been doing this for years, so I doubt it's an exploit.

But then again teleporting from Imperial City with Tel Var Stones was a thing for 10 years before being called an exploit and getting patched out...

Nope, not an issue. You can trait-change for 50 crystals and then decon for a decent chance of getting the trait mat out the other end. I don't bother with jewelry traits because deconning gets you a tenth of a trait mat. Nirncrux is the only one that's potentially worth the Transmute spend. Note that reconstructed gear decons to 25 crystals, not mats, so it's a sometimes useful way of storing crystals when those smaller geodes come in through stuff like the daily randoms and pledges. The one time it was an issue was during the first Crafter's Celebration (also last since it hasn't come back again except on PTS to check the fix). It was possible to reconstruct gear for half-off the Transmute cost (12 or 13 crystals if you'd collected the whole set) and then decon it for 25. IIRC, some folks got banned over that exploit, but that part of the celebration perks got shut off real quick.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Been a thing forever so wouldn’t see it as an exploit and its core to how changing traits work. I don’t use it solely to farm nirncrux but do end up doing it since I’m regularly at the cap and may as well.

If zos has an issue with it I’d be delighted if they removed the transmute stone cap altogether

I do it when I've hit the transmutes cap.

Exactly this. Except I'm not regularly at the cap. :)
