The journal for the quest is not dropping, It is not there when you loot him after illing him, Nor is it anywhere around the area.
Abandoning and restarting does not fix the issue.

Hi @MrsTea! Thanks for raising this, and providing some details. We are investigating this right now. Just for a little added context, this is a different issue than the one we just fixed where the last part of the quest chain was vanishing.

Thanks! I originally thought I was on the last one so was expecting a fix with this patch. Then when looking thru my Lore Library I realized it was differnt. Thanks for a quick reply

Did you check in your quest items section of the inventory, it was in mine there but not in main inventory?

I’ll have to check this. I wonder how many lorebooks I haven’t read for this reason. I know they are put in your inventory when doing the quest, so you can use them as a reference, but it’s after you have already clicked on it and read it. I always assumed that it was already marked as read at that point. I guess you end up reading some of them twice by the time the quest is done then, or even after the quest if there is a post-quest location. I think I read somewhere that it’s done that way to track when quests are complete and then they are added to Eidetic memory but it’s not intuitive.

I just completed this @MrsTea after killing Nedras his journal showed up in my miscellaneous tab.

It didn't show up as loot from his body but it was in my inventory.

After you go to the southern area of the zone, and defeat the bad guy, look in your inventory to read the journal. Then travel to the northern portion of the zone, and enter the house to talk with the woman. the quest will then end successfully.

I choose to give her the money, she needed it more than i did.

By going to the area in Rivenspire I did get the journal. I did not have to fight anyone and the journal just showed up. But I am not able to proceed any further. The quest is stuck where you pick up the journal.
I have quit and restarted, abondoned the quest and reacquired, and tried a /reloadui without success.

have you managed to solve this yet?

i've had the quest since it was first given, which i cant remember how long now. ive tried everything; abandoning then re questing multiple times, cleared cache on xbox, turned off addons, dont use my companion, grouped with guild members multiple times, given 5 minute breaks inbetween killings, nothing has worked. i check my inventory fully after every kill with no journal insight, plus ive sent in multiple reports through the game itself. i just want to finish this quest line as ive finished the other two

I was able to resolve this issue. My buddy got the quest and I followed him to the place home where the quest needed to be turned in. When I entered the house the woman was there with the chevron above her head and I was able to turn it in.

I did notice in the next rumor this same thing happened but I did notice that a new quest started. So I check the zone log in my journal, activated the quest for tracking, and was able to find where I needed to go next. When I was done I switched back to the favor quest.
