The problem is that the combat design/balance team only seems to care about PvE and make weird changes that are... 3 months too late? DK and sorc sustain left alone for some reason.
Even in Vengeance the spreadsheet balancing is... Not working. Like NB mathematically has the best DPS, debuffs, and defensive buffs to round out their kit, while templar is left in the gutter and given the most restrictions and longest cast times in the game, patch after patch. On PTS, nightblades stealth are nerfed in normal PvP when they're the weakest PvP class, but not nerfed in Vengeance where they are the strongest. What gives?
It is a sad thing to see, for the first time in ESO history on the EU Server.
No queues to get into Gray Host, the main campaign.
There are many observations that can be made, and as a pure Ebonheart soldier, that's done my fair share of tours, it is undeniably something that could have been avoided.
There are reasons many have gone to the NA Server and literally started afresh.
Last night, I saw something that compelled me to make this post.
Actions at Kingscrest Keep.
Cheekily we had stolen it back as AD fought with DC in the grounds of the keep.
And then AD took the keep, with DC watching.
After AD took the keep, DC then took the keel while AD watched.
The map was done, as it often seems nowadays.
We all know who the players are that have decided it's more fun to play with the way the campaign runs, as opposed to playing the campaign itself.
When you have a guild claiming keeps with the name 'Cronus Zen', there just isn't any denying the sad state of PvP in ESO.
Too many have decided it's better to quietly quit, then try to uphold an idea of what the campaign is meant to be.
Vengeance is a good idea, tbh.
I fear it's too little, too late, and frankly it's not the main campaign, and will never be accepted as such without better application and support.
Too many tickets, too many clipped videos have been submitted by many, many parties that I know of, for there to be any hope of a return to a better campaign.
I don't mind the mock alliances, that's warfare.
The campaign is dying, and I hope someone has the decency to turn off the lights once they realise they're the last player in there...

This event should be buzzing with people but sadly they removed the only reason for non-pvp players to jump in & try PvP in the gold bars, the new veterancy system is nice & I personally think the did an amazing job on it, I finished it very fast with a good 120 days remaining but it is a lot of time you have to put into but I find the majority of the community are causals these days who will never get the time physically to complete something like this.
As for vengeance I agree it's a good idea, I actually like vengeance it reminds me of how PvP use to be where everything was more balanced & big battles happening in multiple locations, how cyrodiil was meant to be.
You are very correct, it is way too late in the game to fix anything now & as it is now it's very hard to retain new players so what you have left is a pool of players that is dwindling over time due to the huge gap between new & experienced players, I have done several test myself by removing CP & using base gear which is what a newer player would likely have to use in their arsenal & I would call myself an average PvP player I ain't bad but I ain't the top dog either & I can safely say & see why people just give up & jump on other games where you are equal from the start & then it just relies on the actual skill you, whereas here clearly gear, class are a huge advantage.
I am looking forward to the new PvP area but I also have my concern this will just make the current campaigns even more dead expect for maybe primetime as it is now.
I myself have moved on to bg's if I play outside of primetime because I am not running keep to keep pretty much PvDooring or riding across the other side of the large map just get actual PvP, I'd rather be straight into the action.
My opinion is not a very popular one but the only way to retain new players in PvP is to get rid of gh & other campaigns & go full vengeance only, no one wants to spend 100's to 1000's of hours to play PvP just to stand a chance when there are games out like I said above where you just jump in & play, clearly those who have an advantage would kick off about losing their power over others etc & I get that but I am looking at the bigger picture & the survival of PvP, I can see now when I enter it's just the same couple of guilds fighting eachother over & over again, this is also the same in bg's as well btw, the same 40 odd people fighting eachother over & over then the odd couple doing it for the daily xp bonus.
I feel they/Brian had the right idea about vengeance but they/he should have pulled the trigger on having vengeance the only campaign style but due to the backlash they received they got a little rattled, I think people would have adapted but the retention of newer players would have been a lot easier, it's a gamble for sure but even us PvP players want change, ideally we want them to fix the PvP we have but this isn't going to happen as they have already stated they cannot fix it, which imo was great of them to actually admit, now they know this it's time to get rid & start a fresh & applie the knowledge they have learnt from those campaigns to build better & I believe Brian & the PvP team could make pvp great again.
For the part where you talk about what looks like emperor swapping is rife within the game whichever platform or server you are on, this is mainly due to the age of the game (everyone know everyone) & the lack of players (not enough people to stop this behaviour of emperor flipping)

It’s just the games population in general.
It can be ignored until it can’t be ignored anymore.
We need Crossplay and incentives for people to return/ keep playing the game, instead of leaving.
