They've had a Crown Sale and promoted ESO for 9 consecutive years during Quakecon until this year.

The existence and timing of sales and official comments on said sales are two different things.

Historically they have not commented on sales or the lack thereof ahead of time. Even when a sale has actually been imminent, they typically comment on threads asking whether there will be one and where it is just as the sale is going live. The lack of a QuakeCon crown sale may break with tradition, but the lack of comment on sales outside of an active one does not.

They guy that presses the crown sale button must of got fired.

When the new Crown house in The Reach was absent from the August Showcase ( https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/70205 ), I was a little worried about there being a sale. Then when the Quakecon schedule had nothing related to ESO and nothing being streamed, my doubts increased.

In terms of marketing, discounts of any kind are typically tied to promotions. I'm afraid we won't see another Crown sale until there is something worth promoting.

Not once did I buy Crowns for full price and I never will and I'm certain most other players are the same. So ending Crown sales would be a horrible outcome for their revenue.

Maybe they are integrating the monetization teams from ZOS with Bethesda or Microsoft as well after the layoffs.

On paper it probably doesn't make sense anymore to have separation monetization teams for ESO, Fallout 76, Creations Club etc when that expertise can be used across studios.

True. And it's everywhere in the game. But white knights keep on gaslighting people here and on Reddit.

Longtime players are being left out mostly.

- 'I just stared playing/came back since 2019. We don't need knew new zones, there is content enough in the game.'
- 'I played this game for 5000 hours and haven't even started the main quest, why would we need new content?'
- 'Research, mount training and companions are now double as fast. Lets gooooo'. Useless for long time players
- 'A free outfit and assistant in the tamriel tome together with wayshrine navigation charts, potions and other stuff'. Useless for longtime players.
- Thousand of free trade bars to spend in the bazaar and be rewarded. I have like 90 percent greyed out because I participated in earlier events. So mostly useless because there is nothing to spend it on.
- Have some seals of endevours. Nice, now I have 55 000 to buy those 2 items that I like this whole year
- Woooooh a new event and a new questline. Have some blue base game zone sets as reward that you can get in 30 minutes of playing in that zone. Why? The game knows my playtime and my CP points. Scale rewards accordingly...
- 'Chapter X is now part of the basegame.' Cool I bought it years ago. Happy for the newer players, but when do I get such a huge drop of new content again? And no, 60 second events/quests or an hour long quest a year is not the same...

I want new dungeons, new zones, new trials, new class reworks, new classes, new weapons, ... and an ESO+ trial to clean my inventory.

I have come to terms that I will probably logon 4 hours each month to ESO and experience the new content they added. Because for longtime players there isn't much anymore. But it's okay, I made a list of game I want to (re)play so I am finally doing that.

ZOS is making comunication with users one of the priority points and after a change to an appointment that was fixed for 10+ years not an official word?

Honestly, if zos wants some player good will, they will just lower the price of crowns generally across the board.

While there are no ESO tie-ins to Quakecon this year, the only promotion we've seen is on a sale the base game and the updgrade. It makes me wonder if the lack of a Crown sale is ZOS doubling-down on Seasons and Tomes (aka "battlepass"), hoping that players will buy Tome upgrades when they would otherwise buy Crowns.

As a long-time, active player, there is very little of any real worth in the Seasons battlepasses. Anything of value gets locked behind Crown Crates and gambling mechanics/RNG, and the only reason why I buy Crown Crates is because I have historically been able to buy Crowns on sale three times a year.
