Which Of These 2 Major Undertakings Are Most Important For ESO's Future?

Hey everyone, so as the title says these are two of the largest tasks ZOS is currently undertaking and also seemingly two of the issues I have seen the most players have as pain points.
From the past I have learned and the Poll is anonymous, and the options are extremely straight forward with no bias with alternatives as well.

What I would consider the TOP pain points which also take months of work:
No new zone content
And class balance/rework issues

Also, in case anyone here has missed the new Voting System Jessica announced a few days back I will put the link below so you may check it out. The Class Reworks have been up since day 1 and can be found at the very top of the list, my suggestion about the Expansion I posted two days ago & just got approved about an hour ago and can be found under the "Overland" tag if you wish to vote for either.

Fully transparent for me, even though I added the suggestion of the Expansion because I think it is also extremely important for the future of the game. I actually have placed my vote in my own poll within Class Reworks. If they really could only do one.

    Explanation for my choice:

And that is primarily due to it having a direct impact on the long term and very invested player base. And the more upset from those groups, and the more we lose. I believe deteriorates the foundation which new players enter the world on. Even if growth of the world, casual play and completionism is also extremely important.
It is a tough one. And why I hope both can be worked on simultaneously and prioritized at record speed.

I was very close to voting on "Both are equally important" it is a very hard one for me, and I would also personally enjoy both a ton for various reasons.

As always, I agree with you hahaha! Yeah it was such a hard choice for me to "pick" one. That really, my vote maybe should be both as well.

I am interested to see if there are any other suggestions larger than these two for some players, but I am even more interested to see what ZOS does with the information of these issues importance.

Whiterun, Winterhold, both of these I think would be great to see for sure. In a perfect world I'd rather have both the refreshes done asap and new content closer to the size of chapters when we got them still.

However if forced to pick Im pretty sure the class refreshes being delivered more quickly than what we're looking at now will actually save the game from a quicker demise. New content is important for sure, but the class stuff overlaps all content.
Zos then: Vengeance is just a test bro

Zos now: Do you want Vengeance permanent or permanent...

I don't disagree and I hope they are not in conflict enough to focus on both. That's why I want them as the #1 and #2 slots on the voting page ideally.

There is some overlap, but for the most part I would assume they can work on both. And get us the expansion out, and maybe new class reworks in 2-3 class chunks would be great.

This is more of a "if you could only have one" type of thing. With the option of "both" if they truly feel equal.

I'm a housing-focused player so unless the Skyrim zone is going to reward a building-free home instance with 2k slots, I simply don't care about having more zones.

Zone story questlines don't reward players with the best furniture recipes. We're stuck looting containers for months trying to get the recipe we want. No time for questlines or content because the RNG on furniture recipes is so bad.

Class reworks: Doesn't affect housing players. I have no idea how classes are doing. It would be REALLY nice if I could heal multiplayer group content to earn furniture recipes. I would love that. I'd care about combat and enjoy it very much if that were the case.
The gameplay for housing-focused players is opening containers, so it doesn't matter if we are wearing white gear and have no skills equipped. Or which class we even selected.

ESO needs to fix that the only gameplay for housing-focused players is to loot containers. Then I'd care about other things because I'd be playing the game.
Also, remove buildings from homes. And notable homes all need the furniture limit at least doubled.

After 10 years, I'm not sure why there are efforts to rebalance the classes. They have never been balanced and I don't suspect they ever will. Just a big circular nerf then buff machine.

Skyrim expansion. The game is massive and I enjoy the older zones best so don't care too much about new zones.

Would rather see QoL stuff. Just to name a few things: Graphics enhancements. More flexibility with companions to carry a small amount of companion gear, use hairstyles and headgear. Dump all flappers from (especially) light armor. Fix the Timbercrow Wanderer costume diaperbutt bug that has festered since the costume first came out in 2016.

I feel like this is another time when people are like "my thing is obviously the most important thing ESO needs to focus on, because the other thing is only relevant to this small number of players!"

Personally, I think the Class Refreshes are the most important thing. Combat affects almost all aspects of this game, and the only people who don't ever have to deal with combat are the ones who spend 100% of their time playing Tales of Tribute or decorating houses. But the actual balance issues that are plaguing endgame are felt by a lot fewer people, since casuals really could care less about who's playing in Trial groups or PvP (and I'm sure a lot of the hypercasuals want those groups of players to leave since they think that fewer endgamers will mean the game as a whole will be more casual).

As for other zones, the writing and stories have been... controversial to say the least. There is a reason that everyone points to pre-Summerset as the best writing, since everything since has gotten worse and worse. And now, the writer of the only stories that were universally loved (Sharp and Zerith's) is no longer working at ZOS. A lot of people want Winterhold or Whiterun specifically for the nostalgia, but they aren't considering how those could end up getting affected if the writing is poor. Personally, I'd rather them not even try if it's not going to be good - if I want to see Whiterun again, I already have that game installed (and I'm off from work next week and I already am planning to sit and replay Skyrim again). I'd hate to see them ruin one of my favorite areas with an underbaked story that refutes the lore.
Besides, why is it always about Skyrim? I love Skyrim, but there are so many places on ESO's map that we have'nt seen since the procedural generation of Arena. Can we get some of those areas instead of reheating leftovers?

On top of that, I think adding new Combat features is incredibly important - see new Classes or new Skill lines or the like. But that can't be done until they finish the Refreshes. Think about it - what's going to keep players invested longer: a zone story they can hammer out in an afternoon and a series of repetitive dailies, or levelling a new character from scratch with all new Class lines?

I went with Skyrim because it's been announced that we're going there soonish, but in reality I played Skyrim for many years and so I'd rather it be a different place that we've not seen since Arena.
The class rework I see as incidental.
I enjoy the added utility with subclassing and for me anyway, having new skills for my characters but nothing new to do with them is a waste. New playable content (which class refresh is not) is more important.

I want to say Refreshes & Balance, but without a doubt we need a new zone and storyline.

I voted both as equally important, but I’d give the Refreshes a slight edge, as there is a huge pain in the community felt by people when making a choice of character…

Other than Dragonknight, nothing is stable… why build a Warden or Sorcerer knowing they are close to rework? Everything you’re building is on a quicksand foundation.
Dragon Priest [Restoring Light, Draconic Power, Grave Lord]
Death Knight [Grave Lord, Winter’s Embrace, Siphoning]

Ranger [Animal Companions, Green Balance, Shadow]
Druid [Earthen Heart, Animal Companions, Stormcalling]

Dawnguard [Dawn’s Wrath, Restoring Light, Ardent Flame]

"I Don't Care About Either Of These Options"

I really am not happy with what they did with DK or WW (my main is both) so I am not looking forward to whatever they do with the other classes. I accept that these are happening, many players want them, and it is what it is, but this is an opinion-based poll, and that is my opinion.

As for Skyrim, I am not particularly interested in more nostalgia. I care more about the zone than about the reworks, but what I really want to see is more new areas we've not seen before, or questlines in existing zones that are not tied to nostalgia (or memes).

New Skyrim zone to coincide with Markarth going free in November would make sense, if the class refreshes were already done that's what It'd do, or even if half of them were done, but since we don't have a single class except DK, definitely focus on the classes

Whichever they decide to focus on it'll make the other side mad

The premise of the question is too limiting. There are a thousand right answers not on the list of available options.

To me the #1 priority for ZOS is to actually "work on" fixing performance in GH. If ZOS would just do that everything else would work out just fine. ZOS just has to do what they've been telling us for over a decade they were doing. Simple.

We're already in the middle of a class refresh, so yeah it's fairer for everyone if it's finished for all classes.

I'm also a bit sick of Skyrim, personally. I would have preferred to see more QoL improvements, and the addition of a zone quest reset option. In terms of new content, I don't see why we couldn't have had a small part of Hammerfell or that area in the middle of Elsweyr as the next new zone.

The class refresh, since they already begun working on it when they reworked Dragonknight and Werewolf. This leaves all other classes behind and that's not a good thing.
Normally, I'd say both are equally important but this is a case where they need to finish what they started first. Especially as it can affect new content and the way it is played.

I chose "both," even though the class refreshes are uninteresting to me personally.

For me, Elder Scrolls is about exploring and experiencing new stories — so "New Zone" would be my top priority. But I understand that other players have a different focus, and therefore I acknowledge that both should be top priorities.
My endgame is housing, and therefore new zones also mean new structural furnishings etc. If all - zones, stories, new housing stuff - are no longer available, then ESO is no longer worth playing for me.

Considering even before the layoffs, ZOS added one pointless grind after another and one vague promise after another and more comms about "we love our community" then frankly putting the game in maintenance might be the best thing for it. At least then we can do away with more currency, more grind, more cringe worthy quests and just actually enjoy the world that was created.

Class reworks. By far the number 1 priority. We don't need more content / zones at the moment if it just the same cookie cutter stuff without anything different from the other fifty dungeons or thirty zones already available.

Not for new players, but those who have been there more or less from the beginning are left with nothing to do.

And all the new "challenges" from the Tomes aren't content to me; they're just chores, nothing more (and usually the Golden Pursuits too). I don't need a class refresh if there's nothing to do, if I've already played all the quests multiple times, all the dungeons, and been through the Infinitive Archive hamster wheel a thousand times...
