PvE Necro Healer Need Advice on Cyro Healing

Hey. I don't like to PvP a lot. But this veterancy reward track has sick cosmetics and I am going to go earn that. The way I want to do that is through necro healing, but I have been asking for advice and am getting the impression that the priorities in PvP healing are totally different and that I am missing parts of the picture because I don't regularly PvP and am really just totally out of the loop on what my gear even needs to look like. I would love all sorts of info, from straight up builds to advice on CP, to what sets I need to collect and run. I just need a rundown if anyone has the time or energy. I would go just google this myself, but I am notoriously bad at google-fu and really would prefer to learn this in a much more timely manner so that I can go get Veterancy to 100. I am also really bad at figuring out what ACTUALLY works in a build and why sometimes. So any info or wisdom on necro cyrodiil healing is appreciated.

Discussing healing in PvP is too complex to do without showing instead to be honest. But one easy metric to test if you heal build works or not is this: can you stop a ball group's burst from from bombing your faction (or ball) alone?

If not, you are not an adequate healer IMO. Anyone that cannot do that isn't a healer, they are just cosplaying one with HoTs.

Right, but is my priority in that case to increase crit resistance, do actual sheer healing numbers, or increase armor? Perhaps a good place to start would be an intro video. Gan you or anyone else recommenced one or a creator that has made a rundown of what priorities are in PvP?

You're probably better off building a shielder rather than a healer in PvP on a Necro. Stack max health and magicka recovery, spam Contingency shields and Soul Burst shields (both scale off max health). If you know the people you're healing are under a lot of pressure, transform into Goliath to super charge your shields for 20 seconds.

Are you planning on healing a group that you're grouped with, or just solo healing people you encounter? Some sets apply to group only while others can be applied to people you aren't grouped with

Now, see THAT is just the kind of info I am looking for. Thanks so much. I didn't consider that. Shields would be amazing.

I don't know yet. I am going to try and get into a guild for it to make it easier and faster but I don't know which one yet. I am DC on my Necro and would be looking for an active non-toxic guild where I don't NEED to be there all the time, but can join in on regular events. Let's assume I can't get into one for a second and have no voice, and no group. What would you recommend then?

You could throw on the last aeylid mythic in an all impenetrable 3 heavy, 3 light 1 medium with all infused damage glyph jewerly or magicka cost reduction. Then just slap on every heal you can find, put all points into health and you’ll do just fine. Add some scribe shields to the mix if you want.

I threw on 11 druids braid and death dealers fete once on a shielder. It worked good without real any investment besides scribing. I recommend going cost reduction cause shields are expensive. I did frost staff/resto cause I didn’t want to waste alloys, and wall of ice gives a nice projection shield. Soul ward is basically your shield single target, the rest group aoe shields.
