Rewards for the Worthy re-work
Current summary of Rewards for the Worthy for the two different levels of players:
Experienced PVPers and long term players
- No longer relevant for gear collection sticker books after ~1 week of PVP. You can close out every set collection in this time after a new update.
- No longer relevant for crafting traits or materials. Most long term players have the required traits researched and large stacks of low tier base materials (160cp rubedo) and improvement materials (green to purple), and Rewards for the Worthy cannot give gold gear to deconstruct until end of campaign.
- Creates a very large backlog (100+ most of the time) mails in your inbox to clean out.
Non-Experienced PVPers and new players
- May be relevant for gear collection sticker books. Assuming they are brand new to PVP, getting enough AP may take a little longer.
- May be relevant for crafting traits or materials. They could still be looking to build up stacks of base materials (160cp rubedo) and improvement materials (green to purple)
- Will not affect their mails too much, as they will not receive large chunks of Rewards for the Worthy.
My suggestion to make Rewards for the Worthy actually feel like a reward for long term players, while also not alienating new PVPers is:
- No automatic Rewards for the Worthy mails are issued based on accrued AP.
- Provide a new trader (or go to some part of the game / existing NPC), where:
- They will have 3-5 items of low quality (PVP set armour/weps/gear, transmute geodes etc) that will improve in quality as your AP gained increases.
- They will allow you to either withdraw the items at low level (green/blue), which will give you the items and then re-roll their inventory, OR, you can leave the items in there and continue developing the quality over time all the way to gold (even if it is 1-2mil plus AP to get to gold!)
This will allow newer players to continue taking out the items at low level (as a minimum amount of AP gained would be required per withdrawal and re-roll of gear), and also allow long term players to develop gold materials (leave the same gear in for longer and keep upgrading via more AP gained, as the gear doesn't matter as much as gold quality).
This also applies to the new Veterancy system, experienced players don't really need the white-purple mats and gear, and only the gold mats from the later level crafting bags feel like a real reward!
It would be great if a 'build up' system could be applied there too, for the Veterancy Rewards for the Worthy boxes
