Unknown voice at Aldcroft Wayshrine

Every time I go to the Aldcroft Wayshrine, I hear a systematic and unbearable repetition of the line "You've a hunger, friend." I've already installed the Shut Yer Trap addon, but it doesn't show anything, nor can I find the NPC related to this line on the map. Where is this voice line coming from?

I’ve heard it and wondered the same thing. There’s a version of this at all three of the new quest boards.

It's the nearby Werewolf recruiter. There are a couple of other threads asking for them to get either muffled or relocated.

I have exactly the same problem in Skywatch. I hear another extremely annoying voice systematically saying: "You there. You thirst for something more, no? Speak with Zalig." I'd like to completely mute it. Is there a way?

Something strange is happening to practically all the sound in the game: voices of non-existent NPCs, the music cuts out when we're near a bard, the levels are all destabilized in practically every way. This wasn't the case a few months ago. The game is now a total mess in terms of sound, it's very damaged. What happened? What's going on with the sound on this game?

I just found those unbearable NPCs, but even above them they don't appear on Shut Yer Trap. :(

I accepted Zalig's mission, went to do what he wanted, and after talking to Azisa I refused the transformation, and that was it. Five seconds after completing the mission and refusing the transformation, I return to Skywatch and again have Zalig's unbearable voice piercing through mountains. This is really awful.

How do I get rid of this without turning all my characters into vampires and werewolves that I hate?

I do not think you can until they decide to fix this. So, you are going to suffer this sniffing with the rest of us.

I was able to use Shut Yer Trap at close range to silence those two, but the lines still sound off at longer range as the add-on doesn't seem to able to detect them from such a distance. So annoying. I still think these NPCs would be better loitering around their respective shrines than being in town.
RIP Atherton, my beautiful little gentle friend, my Shining Light. I will miss you forever. Without you I am a hollow shell.

They don’t stop even after you join.
They don’t stop even if your WW or Vamp skill lines are maxed.

That's just weird, maybe Zos should let them talk only when spoken to? I don't know anything about that sort of thing, but it sounds simple enough to do.

And wouldn't they want to be quiet anyway, because if the immortal guard hears them it's game over.

Exactly. That's the aggravating part. These NPCs just will.not.stop. Not if you accept the quest, not if you're already a WW or Vamp, never. I will hear Zalig say his line no less than three times in the maybe 90 seconds when I ride into Skywatch from the docks, grab the freerunner quest and run to the wayshrine. Then when turn in, same thing. They are clearly bugged or badly configured. None of the other "annoyance" NPCs are this bad, IMO.

This has been my point in the other threads. Having “recruiters” for the Dark Gifts just seems silly and wrong. I have 2 vampires and 1 werewolf, and yes, they had hungers and thirsts, but none of my other characters do, and for these npcs to claim otherwise makes no sense. It’s like walking by those annoying sales people who want to sell you something you already know you don’t want or need. The additional shrines with the nice icons on the maps are enough. Maybe these recruiters could be replaced with pieces of paper on the ground that have just enough information about the shrines to intrigue a possible candidate.

At a bare minimum, reduce the range at which the dialogue triggers. Most NPC quest givers it's <20m; these ones trigger at up to 100m meaning they are effectively yelling in populated centres. Not exactly secretive...

Yep. It's absolutely ridiculous. They really managed to successfully ruin both vampirism and werewolves RP in the game.

What about if I turn all my characters to werewolves (and not use it) will the unbearable Zalig shut up? (since it's impossible to be vampire and werewolf at the same time)

That does not work either, i hear them on my WW character all the time. Additionally i do not see any options for a quest on any of my non WW/VP guys. I had no clue who they were or why until i found the threads discussing them.

You are correct. Apparently, nothing works. I completed the vampirism quest (unwillingly) on a character and even then, the unbearable Zalig won't shut up. I also picked up Leane Luseph's quest and even with the quest in my journal, I was getting close to the Wayshrine and that disgusting character started spouting the same nonsense again. It's definitely impossible to solve this mess. The only solution is to permanently disable the dialogue audio on settings or completely give up on Favors and never use these cities again.

I ended up completely disabling the dialogue audio in the settings because I still need to complete the Favors and I can't stand these unbearable NPCs anymore. I don't mind keeping it this way permanently, but I'd like to have sound during direct interactions with NPCs.

Is there a way to keep ambient/spontaneous dialogues muted, while having sound only when I explicitly talk to an NPC?
