Please adjust the synergy priority for Recovery Convergence

Healers anyway have only a few sets, and one our staples, SPC, is now gone. Not much left but situational sets and Recovery Convergence. Recovery Convergence has this annoying thing that its synergy has lower priority than every other synergy. And it takes a GCD to get back. I don't want to load a synergy priority addon just for this one synergy.

When you try to position yourself to maximise the people you give the resources, if you come into range of any other synergy, anyone uses a skill that gives synergy, or if you even look at an taunted enemy where you get a synergy, all of those always go on top.

Except, of course, the spears in Cloudrest, because of course I want to pop the Recovery Convergence and not drop the spear when I am in Narnia alone.

And since there are bugs in the game, that gives extra difficulty. In Sanity's Edge, second boss my Recovery Convergence was effectively unusable because of the bug. Had Healing Combustion prompt on all the time. Could not use any other synergies, could not even answer a ready check. The only way for me to use my own synergy was to go close the other healer's energy ball and take the synergy, and then during the cooldown I could use Recovery Convergence. Since Templar's shards have the same cooldown I tried to take my own synergy from my shards but even that was blocked by the healing combustion synergy. The bug persisted after reloadui, roll dodge, and even after death. I even had the prompt while I was resurrecting. So yeah, I had to deliberately seek for the other healer's energy ball which was pretty difficult when you are on the opposite sides of the Chimera.

All of these issues, and possibly other bugs and situations that may come would be lessened if the Recovery Convergence self synergy priority would be higher than other player's synergies.

I was never a big fan of Recovery Convergence. This is one reason. The issue about Spc/Olorime is mostly just due to the Werewolf being able to provide it. That theoretically should change once all the reworks are done because there won't be so many of them. Rather than nerf the Werewolf, I'd like to see them offer more healing sets and improve some of the older ones. Starting with my ruined Pillager Gear smh. I have always been a healer in the game. It is absolutely what I am best at and enjoy the most. It is depressing to see them being put into a back seat by dps. Or having very little for gear options.

Healing synergies always supersede any other synergies, that’s just how the code works. I guess ZOS didn’t want players complaining that they died because they couldn’t take an orb because a graveyard synergy was in the way, but at least there’s a logic behind it.

On mouse and keyboard we usually bind synergy to scroll wheel so just keep spinning to cycle through the synergies to get to recov. Or on a controller bind synergies to your movement so you just take synergies as you move. This is what we do in pvp at least.

FWIW I haven’t had any trouble with hitting recovery convergence in pvp. And we still use SPC as well if you get nostalgic. You’ll find both sets used by ball groups

    That actually makes sense.

Healing synergies having higher priority than other synergies is good, but in this case not necessary. I don't see anyone else than a healer wearing a set that requires a lot of overhealing to proc. And a healer who needs healing synergies to survive is not much of a healer. Especially if you have resources to pop so even if you're out of resources, you would get them and could heal yourself.

So I still think this should be an exception to the rule.

As someone who uses Recovery Convergence pretty regularly, I think making this set's big draw as a synergy condition rather than an automatic proc is ridiculous. Its a TRIAL set which means it is not the easiest set to farm, so there is at least some justification for it to be slightly above sets you can get elsewhere in the game. Why it has a Synergy tied to it rather than it being an automatic proc once the condition is met is beyond me. If you're worried about it proccing too fast, then simply set a condition timer "this can proc once every x amount of seconds."

    an automatic proc

Not a bad idea. The range is 28m anyways. ROJO is typically group healer so the ex-SPC, nowadays RC healer would probably be kite. But even then being farther than 28m is not going to be that often. And in those situations you can either just lose one proc or use something more suitable for the situation.

Or the condition could be moved from X to E.

The way my group uses it the synergy is required otherwise we risk stacking the resource return to group all at the same time, effectively wasting it. With the synergy, the wearers can spread out the resource return to group more evenly over the fight. I like that it procs on demand after a trigger and would not like to see this aspect changed significantly.

I would still like to see base-game preferences for synergy priorities for the caster so that a player could choose to place this synergy above others. I'm pretty sure addons can do this now, but I do think it should be a base game feature.

Edit: as a tangent, the synergy bug that OP describes really needs to be addressed. It happens often in Cyrodiil and we have to go to a delve and back out to reset it. This is problematic given the queue as we often struggle to rejoin Cyrodiil from the delve. I have only noticed the synergy bug with the undaunted orbs and don't know much more about triggers it, but it is interesting to see that it affects PvE and not just PvP as I had originally thought.

Base-game synergy priority setting (including disabling) would be such a GOAT'd feature to add.

There is an addon that allows you to set your synergy priority. I use it for Recovery Convergence. It does work to move recovery to the top of the list.

Recovery Convergence shouldn't exist as a set. The output is crazy. At the least it should apply a debuff preventing multiple Rec con sets from being stacked. This minor inconvenience of the synergy being somewhat awkward is nothing in comparison - if you just take the other synergy they go on cooldown so its never a problem if you just use them.

Also the problem with all synergy priority addons is that they block synergy use from others in the group. Synergies can only be used by a certain number of people at a time, if you're blocking using it then you prevent this from moving onto other players.
