Can someone please explain to me how this dynamic event in Stonefalls works?

So I've done this thing twice now and never gotten any loot and I have no idea how this fricken' thing works. You just show up to it.... ?

First time I came across mid way, and i was like 0.o what's going on here. The enemies died so fast I couldn't even see them, and I got no loot, or I didn't know where to get the loot after it was over.

Second time, I did it from the beginning, stayed with the group, even stayed right next to the NPC's with the big green arrows over their heads. Again, IF there were enemies to dispatch, they died so fast and I never even saw them on my screen. I kept shooting with my bow and arrow but didn't ever hit anything. Then when the event was over, nothing again.

Do I have unlock access to the loot from it or something? Thanks in advance

At the beginning in front of Hightide Hollow delve, you can either gather Fetid Herbs with giant green arrows over the top of them or fish for eels at the pools with giant green arrows over the top of them. Once enough have been collected and turned in, a chest spawns. The chest glows gold and is pretty hard to miss. Then the girl and the donkey start a trip to grandma's house. You follow them, they have giant green arrows over their heads. They stop and get attacked four times. The time right before grandma's house, another chest spawns.

You then follow them to grandma's house where you fight a boss, the final chest spawns, you loot it and then you are finished.

You mentioned using a bow. I would use the area effect of skill that shoots arrows down into a large circle on the ground in the battle area. If you’re trying to hit a single enemy with a skill or light attack you probably aren’t making contact before the massive mobs of other players kills them. At least within an area affect skill you have a chance of hitting something in the area. I use both the bow skill and caltrops from the assault skill line. I also have a third area affect damage skill I created with scribing that I use. I sometimes miss the little chests along the way, but I always get the final one.

As long as you attempt to fish at the beginning or tag an enemy later, it should include you in the event.

I'm testing it to see if you even need to do that. I think as long as you actively cast something next to them it gives you credit and lets you loot the chest. I know if you only cast heals it does.

*After a couple more tests, I can verify that just casting a self-buff while you follow does not allow you to loot the chest. For the first part, you can just cast your fishing pole without turning anything in and get the first chest loot. You can also just follow along casting a heal and loot the other two chests. So if you are having trouble hitting any of the nix hounds or shalks just slot vigor and stand by the donkey and cast it.
