"this person is busy"

I get this constantly in pvp - trying to accept the group invite...what is this??? a bug? any way to fix that?

They are probably in combat I am guessing. If you get an invite and are in combat, the accept button is removed from the screen until you are out of combat, so I assume they cannot add you to the group until they are out of combat.

I always assumed it meant the person who invited was porting and in the middle of a loading screen, since when you join a group and you're in a different instance than the leader it'll ask if you want to port to the Wayshrine nearest them.

ETA the option you get of porting matters mostly because the person inviting is in an in-between state and I assume the game has no way of determining which location to have you port to until they're loaded at their destination.

It usually happens to me when:

- The person is shown as offline
- The person is in the middle of a teleport loading screen
- The server is overrun with players.

I honestly wish the invite mechanic would be able to keep the request up for a little while longer just to survive the loading screen.

but if you have auto invite this shouldnt happen no?
It would be quite suboptimal for pvp to build up groups

If you invite a person more than once without them acting on your initial request, when they act on the request it will always give the "person is busy" reply. The person inviting you being in a loading screen is another common trigger of this error. Being in combat, on its own, does not give a this "person is busy" error. While you don't get the pop up prompt while in combat, you can accept or reject or send invites in combat through the menu.

I don’t know anything about auto invite, maybe a PC or addon thing?
