No, doing it this way gives people more challenges. If someone needs a few more challenges at the end they can get a few on the last day, and on the front end you have to wait less for the next batch of challenges. A 4/3 or 5/2 stagger would be better than 6/1 but it's still better than no stagger. Sure, they could solve the issues differently, like by giving us 12 challenges and 12 rerolls to start, but just changing the start date with no other change would only be a detriment.

Do you really need that many? Most players on the free route have gotten everything with tons to spare. Even on accounts that I only played on weekends I got em all. And on premium accounts the need is far far less.

It makes a lot more sense to sync things up long term than it does to not do so.

I don't. But some people do, people who actually play casually and miss weeks at a time, people who go on vacation, new and returning players who come in mid season, one extra set of challenges can be a difference maker. And for those of us who don't have an issue and get everything with tons to spare it makes no difference either way. I will ignore the one day of extra challenges and for those that want to grind the new season starting on a Wed or Thurs instead of Tuesday will not affect their ability to do the first week of challenges and max out their points.

I get your point, it would be cleaner and more logical to have everything reset at the same time, but there are a lot of things about tomes that could be cleaner and more logical. This particular idiosyncrasy at least has some benefit to some people.
