Pounce - Carnage tech for other skills

I don't know if this has been answered somewhere else so I thought I would ask. Can the tech used for Pounce and Carnage be applied to other skills? The obvious ones being other gap closers, but there could be lots of interesting applications.
I have seen so many people wanting a Magic Melee weapon skill line, this could be applied to some destruction staff skills to let us bonk enemies with our staff in close range.
I want to bonk.

loveeso✭✭✭✭✭Good idea but it's totally bugged now and doesn't work on big bosses like dragons (Sunspire, Elsweyr).
They didn't fix it with today's patch and mentioned a few patch cycles (potentially months or longer!?).
