Please do away with the limitation on deleting characters. Let us delete as many as we want at any given time. I believe yall do it this way to prevent someone from rage deleting then regretting it later since there is no undelete. But, it isn't your job to regulate others temper or protect them from their own decisions. If they delete a character then that's on them. Maybe have it ask twice if we're sure but other than that let us delete as we please, please. Having to wait days delays us being able to move on to create another in its place and adjust our roster and is quite frustrating.

Or maybe someone malevolent could get access to your account and delete everything - no thanks. Keep limitation or send paranoia through the roof.

It is literally there to protect your account if someone manages to get into it, and tries to delete all your characters on you lol so no. Absolutely not. Totally unnecessary.

It was also instituted to impede botting, which would not be accomplished by another confirmation dialogue. Early quests would give gold that could be banked or mailed, then the character could be deleted and the process repeated with no hard cap.

Eh? You can delete 3 at once, with the ability to delete another every 24 hours after that. Why would you need to delete so many at once?

Doesn't do any good if you only have a few characters to "protect" your account though does it.

If you only have "a few characters" that is less then the daily limit then there isn't much of a reason to request that limit be removed either...

Yes, if you have 3 or less characters someone can still wipe your account of all your toons. That is unfortunate when that happens. But most people have more, and it stops a complete account wipe in those situations. It is a security buffer to help while also allowing 3 a day to still allow some wiggle room to delete and remake if for some reason you are struggling to make a character. Also as someone else added, it is also to prevent bots from being made, deleted, and then made again rapidly. But still any security measure I will adamantly refuse to remove for the sake of "minimal convienance".

Yeah no thanks, keeping peoples' whole rosters from being wiped aside I'd rather not open the flood gates back up to gold botters.

What legitimate reason could you possibly have for wanting to delete loads of characters without any cooldown between them? Like has been mentioned, you get three at once, and then every 24 hours after you get another one. Even if you're making characters and then deciding you don't want them, you have eight slots default. You can delete one of them every day if you don't like them for whatever reason, or just wait for three days and delete three at once again.

But like...I don't think most people are going through characters THAT fast. Some people probably, I mean there's the other person who mentioned burning through them pretty quickly because they have a hard time settling on names and stuff. But that's going to be a minority of people and as harsh as this sounds, we shouldn't cater to them at the expense of security and lack of bots.

I don't see how you're prevented from making a roster when you cannot meaningfully make a roster in the first in that short of time span. Characters take time to level.

Three is plenty and is there for player protection against malicious actors, gold sellers, and people trying to exploit new characters.

I don't know if this is OP's idea but I remember when Challenge Difficulty was on PTS it was suggested to add a dedicated, different character slot just to have a character that could be deleted without limits or auto-delete at first death in-game: people wanted a kind of perma-death mode.

That's the only reason I could see, but I am not sure there would be a high demand and use for that.

Just because you wouldn't want to do that doesn't mean others don't. There are a ton of reasons to zap more than 3 characters at a time, I do that on a regular basis. Often it's because I'm trying out new combos with classes but end up not liking it so I see no need to keep a character I'll not play anymore. Then there is the desire to change the characters race or name or appearance, and guess what, we all can't afford the crowns for the tokens to do that so the only way is to get rid of a character and make another. Right now I have 5 on EU I want to get rid of and can't for days now. Yeah I was cleaning house and doing a total rearrange of the roster.

So yeah there are legitimate reasons and it's frustrating to be stuck having to wait a week to be able to do it. Guess I just won't bother logging in for 3 days since I'm stuck anyway, then after that I'll zap 3 and wait another 3 to get the other 2. In the mean time I'll go play something else [snip]

This was added because when the game first launched people made characters then deleted them soon after to get lots of gold quickly.

Level to 10. Get easy 12k alliance points from intro quest. Delete. Repeat.

I'm not particularly devious, but there are probably plenty of ways to exploit this that I can't imagine.

And like I said, for the people who are legit going through characters that quickly, they are the minority and game integrity should not be compromised by a minority who can't decide on character names, Class, Race, Appearance, and so on, so frequently that they're deleting that many characters that regularly.

I would think people would prefer a game where they don't have to worry about these rosters they've spent so much time perfecting being at risk of getting entirely nuked because they were hacked. I'd also think people would prefer a game not overrun by Gold sellers who are using bots like they did at the beginning and absolutely annihilating chat with spam and also tanking the economy with how much Gold they can potentially pump into the game.

The limit exists for a reason. It might be inconvenient but it keeps the game secure in multiple ways. And yes, playing another game for a few days is a totally valid thing to do. In fact I'd say probably more people play more than just ESO on a regular basis than don't.
