Tea does not necessarily mean that it is an actual hot beverage you drink in a little cup. In the real world "fish tea" is actually a spicy soup made in Jamaica. It is called a "tea" because it is much more lighter, uses less ingredients, and is easier to consume. Recipe below if anyone wants to make their own fish tea lol I would imagine the slaughterfish is much the same but instead of spicy it uses sweeter ingredients like maybe the khajiit would use moon sugar, or maybe they would use coconut to bring out the fish flavor.
