Having nameplates will kinda ruin sneaking around in Cyrodil, no?

Nameplates can clutter the screen for sure, but its been done in other games.

I'd like to see name plates for party/guild members, or some kind of mix. In AvA they have the health bar and alliance tag and that is good enough for me. I just want to see who my allies are backing me up.

No. Your health bar and alliance tag go hidden when you sneak right? Nameplates would do the same.

other games done have 1-2000 players on screen at the same time, the name template would need to be able to fit all names usable else others will think its unfair. So in that fact the name plates will be large.

I completely agree with the OP. Name tags essential to the game and should be put in asap.

I'd really like a toggle for this as well... it's just awkward when you're trying to thank someone for a rez but they don't hold still long enough to get their name down :frowning: Also frustrating that you can stand next to friends and guildies and not even know it. The fact of the matter is that mmo immersion (feeling connected to other players) matters more than a realistic game world (where names do not hover overhead).

Name tags please. I hate the fact I could be right next to a friend/guildy and never know it. I turned on the bars just so I could tell if it was an npc that would stop me dead in my tracks or a player i can walk through.

Name plates would make reporting of bots much simpler. But it should be a switch for people who don't want to see name plates.

Personally I like being able to tell players from NPCs, and would like to see floating names for players.

Nameplates wouldn't work for me, so they would need to be switchable if implemented with the toggle off as standard. If you want nameplates, you turn them on.

When I'm walking down the road I don't see nameplates above anyones head, not sure why I'd need to in game. Like life if I want to know a persons name, I approach them. It's not that hard.
Been here since Feb 2014 - You'd think I'd be half reasonable at this game by now...

I only miss the nameplates for friends and guildmates. I understand that ZoS idea of what a guild is differs from mine, but I want to know if I'm running along and a friend is standing right over there. An icon over there head, SOMETHING to indicate, hey you know this guy...

Love it, when a vocal few, claims to speak on the behalf on the "majority". And why is this post here in the UI/MOD thread?

Not vital at all, I'm playing and enjoying the game fine without seeing little floating name tags all over my screen, lessening my immersion and enjoyment.
I also hide zone chat because it also lessens my enjoyment.

Now saying all that, I think options are great, so as long as I can turn this off, as well as turn my own floating name tag off to prevent others from seeing it, I'm fine.

I am not sure what was really his problem, but I heavily doubt nameplates had aynthing to do with it. It's rarely the stuff people are most vocal about.
Actually, I give this post about a 50% chance of being another "ESO is doomed because of X" Concern Trolling attempt. And one of the more successfull judging from the 13 Pages it racked up so far.

This is the AddOn Forum. Adding Namepaltes is out of the scope for addons. For feedback there is a Ingame formalar. Use it, or don't. Your choice.
Any dicussion about nameplates is simply of topic for this forum. Let it go please.

Yeah I don't care what the OP's intention were for this thread. It is obviously worth discussion to people, for, or against.

Are you saying that was should not discuss this issue in the open, only provide feedback that is not seen by the public?

I do agree people are being WAY to dramatic about issues.

I kept thinking something is really missing from beta. This.

And I loved the idea of guild recruitment notes on the pillars and walls. Hated the markers, but it's a really nice touch if it's still around (intractable) without the markers.
People keep telling me they're gonna buy me an ale. They never do.

There are only two things I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's culture. And the Elves.

Took some time indeed but eventually ...

    I won! <3

Only reason I came back to play 2 weeks ago and started my subscription again ...

Missed this game a lot, I have to say its even better than I remembered by far, specially with the DLC's, glad ZOS only improved over the years and finally realized an MMO must have a nameplates option! :D

Currently level 36 and going on, keep up the good work, finished the hives guild and enjoyed every moment of it! :)
