Challenge Difficulty Defautling to "Master"

If Challenge Difficulty is supposed to be" A new opt-in system for you to tailor your difficulty experience," why are all my characters set to "Master?"

Players should be required to opt-in, not have to opt-out on 20+ characters.

I have no desire for "challenge difficulty" content and expect most players feel the same. It's a system the game did not need and it comes at the cost of other content many of us would rather see, like new four-player dugeons and a new story zone.

At CP3600, I don't need extra XP at any level. I don't need extra gold or care about any achievements or titles. Challenge difficuly just slows everything down, and time is more precious than any in-game rewards. Finally, I prefer my arthritic hands not to hurt for days after making a trip to the bank and back.

Is it actually set to Master difficulty then? I just left it on Master yesterday for testing purposes, but I couldn't notice any significant difference when fighting some Overland monsters.

I believe more difficult overland content has been a request for a very long time. I am glad to have it.

Yes, it was set to "Master" on all 20 of my PC NA characters. I had to manually change it on each and every one of them. First thing after patch, my main kept reverting back to "Master" even when I had changed it to "Adventurer." For trash, it just took longer. For World Bosses that I can normally solo without care, it not only took longer, but I had to work to stay alive. I don't fight WBs for the fun of it. Normally, I want a lead or need to complete a quest for something that only drops from the boss and/or the daily reward. Extra time spent fighting takes me away from things I actually want to do in the game.

A request from a very small but vocal minority of players, most of whom don't ever even do much if anything in overland.

    Mine defaulted to Adventurer.

I'm wondering if players who had it default to something other than Adventurer are using any add-ons?
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I run a minimum of add-ons, and all of my characters on PC NA are max level with functional builds. Every one of them started out U50 with "Master" difficulty. I received a reply to my in-game bug report that they are looking to fix this with a future update.
