test test test...empty hands hit harder then weapons in eso

People complain about the shield bash....(go in block and also hit...switch between right and left mouse button)
i have test for all to do that for one time will end this discussion....

make sure are over lvl 40...the higher the better

go to an area where you can figth mobs about the same level like you and try face 1 vs 1 for best test results.

first use a one hand and shield on you level...and bash the mob to death....use the addon for dammage for fun results.

then buy a lvl 3 green shield in stonefalls and do the same...compare the dammage (its the same

)

then equip nothing in ofhand and do it again....dammage stays the same like with shield at own level

then for the final test.....
equip two weapons duel wield..

you get these results...
Shield at your lvl, lowby shield and bare hand do same dammage.
weapon in off hand does less dammage then the empty hand.

Its actually quite fun though lol... well naturally one would use a shield around same level as one self due to the extra armor and such... but still wtf lol....

I'm guessing what you mean for your conclusion is...

Bash is currently viewed as the highest damage weapon ability that you can spam.

Shields level doesn't affect bash damage.

Off hand weapons do less damage than empty hand.

Empty hand does the same damage as bash making it better than actual weapons.

Meaning once the patch to fix bash hits people will go empty hand to bypass the bash cooldown and just punch people to death since it's the same damage as bash?

Did I get that right?

I miss fighting hand-to-hand from earlier Elder Scrolls games.

I would like to see a hand-to-hand skill line here.

Does the 1h and shield line actually give you it's passives when yer not using a shield? I thought the main reason it was particularly shield bashing and not bashing with any old weapon was because the passives would make the actual shield bashing cost next to nothing.

I also misinterpreted the OP (thinking they meant shield with no mainhand, silly me) and did some testing myself and found that you can't weaponswap to a shield alone, game won't allow it. But if you unequip the weapon and keep the shield while it's your current set you keep the shield on your back while doing fisticuffs.

Also at vet rank 1 fisticuffs only do about 15 less damage than a blue V1 axe, but also seems to attack quicker than the axe. Take that as you will. :P
