Shattered paths signet build question.

I'm trying to figure out a build for a Magicka DK using the shattered path signet. What I'm wondering is it best to build around ultimate generation for like set bonuses and then just run as many dots as possible.

Or does basic ultimate generation overcome the 1.5 ultimate per second drain?

I tried looking online at different builds but I haven't found any builds for DK shattered paths other than stamina based DK. I'm just kind of tired of always playing stamina for everything is always thinking about a vampire dragon DK.

Minor Timidity drains one point of ult every two seconds. Normal ult build is three points every two seconds. So you’ll be perfectly fine without worrying about building extra ult.

No need to worry about ultimate. It will stay 500 unless you die.

MagDK and Shattered Paths works best with a whip build, not a flamecarver.
I'd also be careful with a pure class, burning focused build. They tend to disappoint.
    Subclassing is probably better.

Well I was kind of thinking about preparing for update 50 with the Masterys coming in.

I guess it'll depend if the DK Mastery make the pure class better or if it's still going to be subclassing is the way to go.

With Shattered Paths it definitely is better to subclass. Two of the DK masteries require you to spend ultimate, one is for bracing and the others require a certain playstyle.
Wildfire Embers gives an additional DoT when one of your abilities end and Inexorable Descent improves your Landslide passive.
Both passives do not really lean into the "heavy application of status effects" playstyle. Although you'll probably get a big damage boost from using Pyrebrand.

Make of it what you will, but I'd still subclass.

So what like a sorc/Warden subclass use the bear as the ultimate since you won't be using your ultimate?

For a pure templar is Shattered Path Signet better to use or Velothi ? I only play PvE

Barely even notice minor timidity at all tbh. Don’t worry about it.

You'll still use ultimate, it's more just slowed down for DK's ult-dependent passives. I can't speak to a specific build for what you want, but Warden offers a huge Chilled status damage bonus, and Assassination offers big critical chance bonuses that also buff your status effect damage, for example.
