Question: Anyone else in pvp getting some nasty dms from people you kill?

It seems like I'm getting more and more, usually its a one time thing, I try to defuse it but it's kinda concerned but also hilarious. Am I the only one whos been getting a lot of these? I'm not even doing most of the damage, every pvp activity has had this as of late and its usually never the same people. I did make friends with one of them which was nice. However anyone else in any pvp activities been getting more hate or nasty dms as of lately or has this always been a thing and im just now noticing?
I am dark strife. Khajiit since arena... ya know when they were humans... with face paint... still khajiit only all games...

I've noticed a significant decline in manners, respect and empathy here in the US in the last decade. No question about it. If you can't figure out why you haven't been paying attention. I think that has bleed into all aspects of life, even in ESO.

This is common in PvP games. I got a lot of unhinged messages playing fighting games on PS over the years lol.

For ESO in general I've seen more ranting people in PVP than any other activity. Best to ignore or block and not engaged with them if they are already tilted.

I see the most toxicity coming from newer players in group finder dungeons.

I have always found it's the mid-tier PvE ESO players rather than newer ones. The ones with an FG1 or Wayrest1 trifecta thing, that now think they're god. Usually fake tanking, no taunt, with dire DPS, and a copy-paste YouTuber build they can't use properly.

They were a huge reason I quit a couple of years ago, and why I still despise the RND PUG experience in this game. This game really does have one of the worst RND PUG communities in online gaming.

All of which is really odd, as a lot of this community is quite wholesome.

If I message anyone, I'm just letting them know that the next time I see them I will coldfire them. With more than one.

Then they can't say they hadn't been warned.

I don't PvP any more, but when I did, I used to LOVE getting these! Getting a furious string of insults from someone I just killed always made my day - I had a good laugh and it told me I was clearly doing something right!

Honestly, just laugh at them! :D

And people wonder why so many play this game solo and avoid PvP altogether. ;)

PvP attracts some pretty unhinged people, and the community being so small means everyone takes everything super personally. We used to love posting hate whispers we got in Discord.

They have chased away most of the player base. The other issue is the state of combat. The most toxic combination ever. It used to be really fun. At this point, I'll welcome the end of GH. It honestly cant come fast enough.

Usually gankblade and unkillable tank builds get a lot of hate. Sometimes a templar Jesus beam, but Jesus beam has been so weak that nobody rage whispers about that skill anymore.

Thing is I've played pvp for about 20 years, but never seen it this bad in eso. I fear when voice chat is put in.

I play a lot of PvP games on PC and console (usually the ones with cross progression).

In most of those games in EU, on PC chat is usually chill and fun sometimes I even get compliments if I play exceptionally well. People often strategize as well if things don't go well.

Then those same games on console are like a toxic swamp. Whenever something is said on chat it is to berate my team or laugh at the other team or offensive slurs.

Usually those people that are toxic are like that all the time. I usually report them. It usually doesn't take long for them to have enough reports to be actioned and I get the 'Thank you for reporting, action taken' dialogs in games.

Agreed - there is a core "group" of people that are for sure contributing to the toxicity. Just put them on ignore and move on.

They're just mad you won lol. I really like the ones who try to explain, while lying dead at my feet, that they're the superior player and that I only got the killing blow because X Y Z function of the game they are also playing. Like dude, if "being a zergling" (running with a guild) or "using ranged attacks" (lmao??) is so OP and losing is so upsetting... maybe you should try it too instead of dying to all these terrible players and their 1337 hax? XD

Not often because I am not a very good PVP player. But when I do, I cherish them. They are sweet, sweet nectar to drink. So for all salty people in PVP: please send hate whispers. They mean I do something right in PVP.

I don't PvP often enough in this game but got plenty in others. I just read them all as bowing to my obvious superiority to them because that's the main reason people send hate tells is they're just mad they lost.

If they really cross the line, you can report it..

But honestly, most of them are just people throwing temper tantrums and when you view it that way, it becomes hard to take seriously.

We used to have a toast on every "hate whisper" any groupmate got in Cyro when we did naked runs with the old guild.
