Was it ever considered to simply disable Malevolent Promise if Corpseburster is worn or vice versa?

Pyrebrand interacts with DK's class mastery, so clearly some form of interaction between these things is possible.

If the only reason Malevolent Promise isn't usable in PvP is because of Corpseburster, why not just make it so those two things cannot be used in tandem?

This wouldn't really affect PvE as Corpseburster is primarily used in DPS builds and 99% of DPS builds will be using the other two DPS passives since utilizing corpses is much more trivial in PvE compared to PvP.

Necro stands to gain the most from Malevolent Promise in PvP, yet that is the one environment it cannot be used in. If the combination of Malevolent Promise and Corpseburster is too OP in PvP, I don't see how the first solution wouldn't be to just disable the combination of the two.

@ZOS_Kevin Is this just not feasible on the technical side? It seems like it should be considering Pyrebrand and Wildfire interact with each other.

I understand that each class is getting their reworks, but waiting months for something is a bit frustrating when this seemingly simple change would instantly make Necromancer so much less clunky in PvP.

Corpseburster with malevolent promise was fun and I believe it would be beneficial for fights where the boss is moving a lot. I would be sad if the interaction was removed as it’s the entire reason I plan on making a cro dps for U50.

What if it went the other way and corpseburster only worked in PvE, would that be bad too? (Genuine question)

Seconding this. I still dont think corpseburster would have been overpowered but at least trying the passive with corpseburster disabled would have been more than what necro got

Corpsebuster's damage doesnt even reach force shock in pvp so I doubt you can find ''groups of pure class necromancers'' going around spending a GCD on this set. Not to mention this passive occurs every 2 seconds and in a big fight its not even going to be on the same enemy

Apparently not, because that would of instantly solved the issue.

Hell, even -50% damage with the set in PvP when combined with the Mastery, could of made it interesting to use. I'm against any red tape that 100% disables something.. at least in general.

Every other class gets full access to all mastery passives in both PvE and PvP. It’s not an adequate solution for zos to wait for the necro rework to address this.
