I might be completely misinformed because I just started following updates again, but Warden refresh isn't coming in Update 50?

Does that mean the class refreshes are on a 6 month cycle if so? Just worried that it's going to be nearly 3 years for all the classes to get reworked if that's the schedule. Was under the impression they were targeting a class refresh with each major update (quarterly).

I know we switched to seasons but it seems like the update cycle is still exactly the same. PTS for ~6 weeks, update gets pushed the 7th week then ~5 weeks until the next PTS opens.

If Warden refresh isn't in this PTS then it's not coming until ~September.

    Warden refresh is U51.

All of the classes are in subsequent updates, except for a single break between DK (U49) and Warden (U51). Ostensibly that is to gauge the feedback of how DK is received since it's going to be the template for how the other refreshes go, but they're also doing Werewolf in that time, which is coming out with U50.

Are there any plans for future to align the updates with seasons?

Even the DEVs at live are confused what goes when. Its really hard to keep track on everything theese days.

I noticed something during the stream. the new additions to the Daggerfall area. they may be overlapping with the Ilessan Tower Delve. not necessarily in a way that would overlap map but the new building in the north east corner of the Daggerfall might be in a position where it ought to be visible from the open area inside the Delve. just something to keep in mind for the environment/world building team. but yeah. please keep adding stuff to replace those inaccessible areas on the maps. fill them all, go nuts with it!

Kicking the warden refresh can down the road only prolongs the balance issues this game can’t seem to shake. So in U50 we’ll have ONE 2.0 class (or 2.5 even with class mastery) and 6 1.5 classes. Atrocious state for the game. Pushing out the class changes should be priority #1.

Transmute stations at Mages guild halls and improved XP for companions sound interesting.

Because we have to grind XP to level companions for alt characters, that is a cool quality of life improvement. (I'm omitting at the "higher rapport" part 👀.)

    Thank for this update!

I'm curious about something. Moving from 50 dailies to 100. I'm gonna be honest here. In almost 10 years of playing ESO, I never knew there was a daily quest limit. Is this per character or account? Is 50 dailies per character something players were in danger of hitting, if it was per toon? Does it just mean all dailies would vanish or not be acceptable? This is fascinating to me. On one hand, if per character, the endurance needed to break 50 dailies on a single toon is wild. If it's per account, with 20 possible toons, you're cooked on crafting writs alone. Why was there a limit to begin with.

    It is per character.
I've also never heard of anyone getting in danger of hitting it, and I've been playing for years and can grind a lot (CP 3600 by now). There might be people having this problem if they saved 25 dailies before Jubilee, handed them in at the start and then did 25 more dailies this day, but let's be honest, the people that are this committed have far more than 1 character they do this on, so when they hit the cap they just move on to the next toon.

Way more QOL would have been to increase the amount of quests your journal can hold. Like, double it. But even an increase of 10 or less would be great.

Very interesting. So another filler qol feature to make the list bigger that impacts really no one and no one asked for. Don't get me wrong. Quality of life is great but many of these things are either not asked for or like a bizzaro world version of what was asked for. Like lead timers. I don't think most people were complaining about a month, the change is welcome but not what people were talking about when complaining about the scrying and excavation system and leads more specifically. Well, let's hope they get to some good stuff sooner or later.

Aside from the lack of new content that I have complained about in other threads, I really like the "QoL" and system changes that I am seeing.

I will say, however, that the class refresh and combat balance is taking far too long. We're already seeing posts calling for a nerf to the DK - the reason being, it was "balanced" first, so it's now ridiculously OP.

As a dedicated Sorc, it's apparently pointless my going to Cyro until at least November. That's utterly crazy. Whoever thought balancing combat across all classes should take a year wasn't thinking at all.

2 years actually. It'll take around 2 years. But you gotta understand, you think hard mode Bashai is difficult? They're fighting a beast of a boss in there. The spreadsheet. Sucks its gonna take so long but at least they were up front about what they can and can't do and at least they seem to be actually doing a good job.

As for no content, to be fair, at this moment we'd usually all be waiting for the summer chapter. It would just be on pts and the hype train would be rolling, but there would be no content. In less than 2 weeks we'll get night market and hopefully that'll be fun and we'll be playing that until June.

Not particularly griping because being able to decon exemplary stuff is a step up, but griping because deconning Jewelry only provides a chance at a 1/10th of a trait mat and that's what most Exemplary gear is unless someone is going to buy that Nirnhoned crate from the Tome. That's a lingering irritation since Update 40, btw.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

How to change the difficulty and how to see the class specialisation?
  • cadwells_ghost
I play on several accounts, and have been playing pretty much since launch. I've always enjoyed ESO and found its replayability generally awesome. This change to a Seasons model is in danger of breaking that enjoyment though.

    1. Under the Chapter model, we received certain content on a regular basis, with those willing to pay on release getting unique content not available to those not willing to financially subsidize ZOS. They would later get access through Crowns or other means when the content was no longer the latest. It was something for everyone. ZOS got paid by those willing to support the development. Paying players got content that wouldn't be overrun initially by free players. Free players were able to enjoy a free game created by one group and paid for by another.
Now, there is no unique content for paying customers, with the only incentive to pay being some cosmetics. Also, the price of the game has effectively doubled now, since buying a deluxe edition of a chapter cost about $60 once a year, and buying the higher tier of the Season once a quarter costs $30 every three months. So if you want to financially support the game, you pay twice as much for less. It is as if you have prioritized free gamers over those keeping the lights on.
    2. Shifting login rewards to something more like endeavors makes an alt account drastically less useful. That's a personal playstyle and a personal grievance, so I can acknowledge that it may be minor or nonexistent for many players.
    3. Stop insisting that Night Market is not group content just because more powerful players can solo much of it. As I have aged, my ability to do more difficult content has gone down. I no longer participate in Veteran content for that reason, but that has never been an issue overall because I could still engage in normal content. ESO has stuck with me, and I with it, because it has always been solo-friendly (solo-required in some instances). Over the past decade, many of the people I played with have either quit, continued with higher-end content, or passed away, so enforcing (or strongly encouraging) huge groups or zergs doesn't fit the playstyle that ESO has encouraged for years.
    4. If the Night Market is going to continue to return, it will repeatedly become short-term zerg content that just interrupts the main gameplay while active, and we have plenty of those with all the holiday events that everyone loves but is glad to see go after a week or so.
    5. The interface for Golden Pursuit and Tamriel Tome rewards is pretty much the worst you could possibly have come up with. If I'm in the middle of playing, I really don't need a pop-up in the middle of my screen telling me to collect a reward. Put the message in chat and automatically grant the reward, or at least do like you do with PVP rewards and send an email with it.
    6. Because of the drastically increased price, and the lack of solo-friendly content, I've already canceled all but my main account's ESO+. And while I bought Season Zero on that account, I don't see purchasing any future seasons. Tell your accounting department that trying to suck the paying player base dry in favor of free play with fewer benefits has immediately cost ZOS several hundred dollars a year immediately just from me. Not knowing how others respond, or how many people are paying to play, I have no way of knowing what that translates to across the entire game. On the plus side for me in that regard, that frees up at least $600 a year for me to invest in other games or activities.

As it stands, I'm hanging in for now on the one ESO+ account, seeing how things turn out.
