1. Daring Race Locations & Strategies
Sorrow's Friend (0:00 - 4:56)
The Route: Start at the designated platform and collect the five orbs. While there is no strict order, following a consistent path as I show in the video is recommended. Hug the walls to minimize damage. The roaming boss is non-aggressive unless provoked in this zone, so not a huge deal to run by.
You can get to the “1st orb” where I start without aggroing any mobs very easily by going straight and slightly left at the beginning 2 way path.
Grab the first orb and run back toward the entry but turn right to grab the second orb between two buildings, then turn back around and take a slight right hugging the walls and avoiding the pack of mobs where you should find a 3rd orb just outside of the reach of a mob pack, run between the buildings straight after and take another right where you should see another orb nearby just after hopping a little hill, the final orb is the furthest ones away from the others all the way near the entry. You can run along the right side from the 4th to the 5th orb without aggroing any new mobs and the 5th orb is right before the pillar supports for the overhang toward the exit.
Cheese Strategy: Warwicks Wacky Wace! As I coined it!! Starting just outside of the green orbs near the south platform when Molonach is up and active, seek bright green glowing potions on the ground. Drink one and immediately grab the first orb which is in view of the platform. Proceed along the path to the next 4 orbs headed back toward the entry of the zone. You can use the werewolf form to charge mobs all along the way, and never risk dying at all. Very fun and very silly way to do it. (If Molonach is not up, these potions will not spawn. The other brazen bosses must be killed to spawn him)
Reward: You unlock a very short activatable teleport spell for 15 minutes, unlock the achievement after first success and gain 10 favor.
Parch (6:57 - 9:06)Locations: Two race locations are found in the south (one in the southeast, one in the southwest), marked by doors labeled Unstable Creatia. The final one is in the north east.
Strategy: Crouch to avoid lasers and electricity, and time your movement to dodge flame traps. If you are a vampire or use the Night Silence set, you can sprint while crouched to complete these significantly faster.Reward: achievement completion first success, activation of a combat boon where you summon a lightning bolt ”ally” in combat situations on activation. Buff lasts 15 minutes. And you also gain 10 favor.
Skittering Precinct (9:06 - 10:39)Locations: The fire you need to grab in order to begin this puzzle is immediately inside the beginning of the zone about 40 meters from the door. The egg locations are 1 to the left just beyond the first pack of mobs, 2nd egg just on the other side of the building from the fire underneath the overhang, and 3rd is to the right and a bit further away than the other two by about 20-30 meters slightly up a tiny hill.
Strategy: You can actually avoid most or all combat depending on pack locations during event cycles. (Sometimes there is a pack just above the first egg, but it’s often clear there)
Grab the fire and immediately dash to the left egg while hugging the buildings wall and then keeping a healthy distance from the 1st pack on the left. Burn the egg and swiftly return to the fire.
Grab the fire again and go the exact same way left hugging the building, but this time turn right at the second building underneath the back of the overhang and burn the second egg out of reach of the pack of mobs, return to the fire.
Grab the fire once more and AGAIN head left hugging the building, go under the second buildings overhand making a tiny jump past the stick yurt and run straight as there is a nice gap of no mobs this way and you should see the last 3rd egg just partially up a tiny hill. Burn it and if you did everything quick enough you should see it pop up as complete and get a little spawnling spider companion for 15 minutes. And 10 favor.
2. Night Market Puzzle TipsGuiding Light Puzzle (10:55 - 12:55)Power Stones: Note that mirror configurations and power stone setups reset upon leaving and returning to start another game of the Guiding Light Puzzle.
Mirror Logic: Mirrors do not always turn the same direction. When one completes a cycle to the right, it reverts to the first position on the left. And they do NOT start in the same position each time as their fellow mirrors of that color.
Ignore Unnecessary Mirrors: Do not try to use every mirror. Focus only on those that align with your targets; ignore fixed red or yellow mirrors especially if they are clearly dead-ended and not part of the equation.
Your chances of success are much higher than they initially appear. Here is the logic:
Reduction of variables: Because two of the colors are effectively removed from the puzzle and each remaining color has three potential states, the total number of possible combinations drops from 81 down to only 9.
The number of attempts: You are given 4 rounds to test your combinations.
Statistical success: If you do not repeat any combination during your four attempts, your absolute lowest chance of success is 44.44%.
Improving your odds: By using what I call educated bias, essentially observing the puzzle and ruling out combinations that are obviously incorrect you can realistically increase your success rate to between 60% and 100%.
Arachnid Invasion (12:55 - 13:45)Web Removal: If a pump is covered in webs, you can intentionally overheat the flame pumps to burn the webs off, and you should do this. This is the correct method to help easily solo the puzzle.
SUPER IMPORTANT UPDATE: When soloing the Arachnid Invasion, you
DO NOT need to try and kill every spider and save every pump. In fact, its best to condemn one. Completely let it go, ideally the most overrun pump. And just keep up on burning webs off the other 3 while killing as many spiders as possible. My win rate is now 100% with this method.
Boulder Dash (13:45 - 14:16)
Avoid Collisions: Boulders are fragile. If they collide with other boulders, the environment, or roaming NPCs like the Sandworm like what happened to me D': , they will break. Watch your pathing carefully!
I hope all of this data has helped some of you as much as the previous one had, and I hope you are all enjoying your experience in the Night Market as much as me or more!!
