On Redguard cities

I've always thought that Fargrave's architectural style is very similar to something from Redguard.
In fact, someone claimed that Fargrave's style was originally intended for Redguard content. I don't know if this is factual or just a rumor.

Visiting Night Market has made me even more convinced that we need at least one region in Hammerfell with one or a few cities with the style we see in Fargrave.

I absolutely hated the Redguard architectural style in the base game (Alik'r Desert, Stros M'kai). I always call them "Playmobil cities." Whereas Abah's Landing is a true gem of ESO.
However, I would be disappointed to see the exact same style as Hew's Bane in a future new Hammerfell zone. I much prefer each region to have its own unique style (with a few exceptions).

ZOS talked about a hammerfell zone that never happened, then suddenly we got forgave which was randomly packed onto the deadlands dlc and very underdeveloped.

    So seems obvious what happened.

The base game hammerfell zones suffer from the same thing every other base game zone suffers from (High Rock and Valenwood were heavily hit by this as ZOS stupidly decided to have the whole province in the base game) is that its all copy and paste and very repetitive. It doesn't get the care with design, layout, architecture and lore that the dlc zones get.

This may change some with more and more dlc being included in the base game moving forward. I really liked Fargrave but Alikir and others have something charming about them. I always viewed the need for expansions of existing styles or even new ones as better for the game. It allows housing more additions for what they love in the game, helps the trading communities and adds more culture to Tamriel as far as the story goes.

I prefer the Redguard style that is in the base game, with the gilded domes on the towers and also the Hew’s Bane style architecture in Thieves Oasis that is similar. I wish we had more structural pieces in Redguard style so I could create a city like Satakalaam in Alik’r myself.

The Fargrave style is more blocky and monumental as far as structures go. I have not used that style for any housing projects myself. I don’t really see much similarity to Redguard at all but there is a more typical Redguard house in Fargrave to purchase.

    It’s just a personal preference.
