A Case For The Intermittent Night Market

So, there were some voices complaining about the nature of the intermittent zone, which led ZOS to say they may consider making it permanenet ... Don't!

The Night Market only works if there are players in the zone. Making it permanent will lead to it becoming yet another dead zone that occassioanlly has dedicated groups paying a visit.

Keeping it intermittent pushes people into the zone, allowing for the more casually minded and solo minded players to either group or just run around together.

Totally agree with this. The limited time of the event ensures that groups can be formed with the group finder tool. Guild members aren’t always available or the group is full. The longer the Market runs the more difficult finding a group will become.

it does seem fun to have it return every other Season (0,2,4,6...). i hope ZOS never retires it.

i just hope that there will be alternative sources for the furnishings.

It can be really fun when you can find a group willing to stick together. I have done all the brazens and dungeons but not touched trial as no one wants you if you do not know mechanics and i have not had time to sit and watch a video on it yet.

I think NM is showing up limitations with Group finder and Group support in game in general.

Or better yet, have different variations of this type of event in between. I really like this one. All of my Guilds do.

As much as I personally like the Night Market, I do agree that gaps help keep it evergreen and give potential to add new districts and content within over time. I will say I would strongly prefer if the term intermittent was used instead of temporary though, as it feels more accurate and less implicit it could be one day gone forever on a whim. I could see Night Market being like this especially since we also know Mayhem is moving to four times a year and giving intermittent things that come and go but the players are at least somewhat familiar with might be good. I have another game I enjoy that has random game modes that do similar and they are some of my favorite game modes.

Haha ty, I was more referring to zos and the marketing team with that but I do appreciate it here for discussion clarity.

Agreed. I’m running twice a week runs in my guild for the duration and if I had to keep that up eternally I think I would topple over LOL. So, having it be limited time has motivated me to even lead these runs!
