im not sure if the issue is poor reading comprehension if zos has to spell everything out in extremely explicit terminology, or if their terminology was too vague, or a little bit of both

How does it have to do anything with reading comprehension if words like "hard" are entirely subjective? For a person who does overland only, a person who sometimes solos normal dungeons, and someone who has a regular trial group, the idea of "hard" will most likely be a completely different one.

If I read an article adressed at the ESO playerbase as a whole, I would expect it to take the perspective of the "average player" when it describes a difficulty - problem is, no one except for ZOS has stats about what the "average player" can do or not, so we might also all have different ideas of that. So instead of vague terms like "hard" or "easy", people need to know the scale or get some comparison so they know what exactly is meant.

Not sure what the problem with precise wording is. Scientific writings are precise. Well-written news articles are precise. Good manuals are precise, too. An article about history saying "sometime in the 17th century there was some bad disease and lots of people died" would be considered nonsense, as would a cooking recipe telling you to use "a few eggs, a bit of butter and not too much sugar".

I also don't think terms like "vet content", "group content" or "content on the diffculty level of dungeons/vet dungeons/trials" is "extremely explicity terminology".

In the end it doesn't matter - we can clearly see the current drama, and I'd rather not see that happening again as it harms the game.

i base what they based on the "overland" difficulty as that is their "standard" difficulty

when they say hard and recommended grouping, im thinking at least vet dungeon difficulty at a minimum

i know difficulty is subjective, but zos bases it on the current game difficulty, they arent just going to say it without any context

would it have been better for them to say "challenging to solo" instead of hard? and i already know your answer, the answer will be no because no matter what they describe for difficulty, someone will complain because difficulty as you said is subjective

so i always assume their "base" difficulty they talk about is overland/normal dungeons, and "hard" is vet dungeons or above

I don't know what people were thinking because I assumed this would be not soloable at all, especially not at the outset when no one kows precisely how everything works. I remember the staff very much stressing you really want to be grouped for this.

I gave a few examples in the very post you quoted.

Why even mention soloing at all if it's group content? They never said "it's soloable, but hard" when releasing trials or dlc group dungeons, they clearly call it group content, and just that. It's a clear signal: This is not intended for solo players. So the average solo player knows exactly it's not supposed to be for them.

Sure, there are people who can still solo it, but I don't think they need to be reminded of that by calling some group zone soloable.

i think they intended this place to act like a public dungeon and use "soft grouping", but their biggest issue is that the instances population caps are too low, it feels very empty most of the time without being grouped

I can actually solo the mobs in nHoF so the NM mobs are actually harder than those. LOL. What a waste of time
