Cyro PVP is dead

Even before the event i noticed cyro pvp dying off. No more large battles, no more fun incursions. The full spirit of pvp is dead. Now its just 1 or 2 unkillable ballgroups that not even lamp knight's can get through or just a few random scattered players. Cyro pvp is truly dead not just in population but in variety and spirt. It truly needs help. You guys agree with this?
I am dark strife. Khajiit since arena... ya know when they were humans... with face paint... still khajiit only all games...

You must be referring to vengeance.

Prior to the last vengeance against PvP players GH was pop locked 10-12 hours/day and the score was less than 300 points between first and last place. There were queues of over 200 during prime time. Last night, even with most being in the night market, GH was pop locked with a queue of about 40.

So what you appear to be claiming is not borne out by the facts.

probably should explain it a bit more, ive been on the game for over 10 years and noticed the whole spirit of pvp dying, its just ball groups and overall its boring, i meant not the population but the spirit of it. It feels bland.

If that's how it feels to you then you weren't participating in the last GH campaign. This campaign will be slower, understandably, due to the night market being up at the same time, for a limited time, and also being set up for organized group content.

...and I've been here and a PvP main since Sept. 2014.

i would first note that lamp knight is a terrible set, at absolute best it gives you a +4% dmg bonus over normal, at worst it makes you lose dmg

i personally liked vengeance after trying it, mostly because it removes a lot of the current "toxic" cyro elements (bombers, ball groups, gankers)

the problem with grey host/normal cyro is that due to the low pop caps its extremely difficult to counter the near unkillable groups

if it takes 60 players to take out a 12 person ball group, that is half of your entire faction which means if your dealing with a ball group then theres less fights around the map because the ball group is eating up so much of the population

ignoring the ball groups is not an option because then they will just gate your faction

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

The ball groups killed Cyro for me. Running around keeps ad nauseum is so boring and pointless.
Ive pretty much stopped going into Cyro because of it.

The population dropped because people are playing the night market for gear (and because it’s fun).

We were however still locked out last night, just not with 100 people in front of you in queues. Also, Greyhost prior to the last vengeance test was crazy populated, more than the last midyear mayhem, but Vengeance tests always push away people who don’t read eso news to know Greyhost was coming back after 7 days. Or, they just didn’t care and got frustrated at the treatment.

Either way GH isn’t dead but Vengeance sure was.
Zos then: Vengeance is just a test bro

Zos now: Do you want Vengeance permanent or permanent...

I've been playing less and just playing offline games because Cyrodiil doesn't offer anything appealing anymore.

If you aren't Warden, DK, or a variation of the one shot builds, you're pretty much going in there to become food for everyone running those builds.

There's no skill element in the slightest anymore with how overbuffed DK is; with how crazy damage is from these one shot builds; with how overbuffed ball groups are relative to non-ball groups; the list goes on.

There's no skill element, and the lack of a skill element does something worse: it removes a chaos element.

Vengeance is bad to a lot of players because it lacks a chaos element that can equalize things beyond numbers.

Well guess what? Gray Host on PC NA? PC EU? It's the same exact thing as Vengeance in that regard, except you can run unbalanced builds that give you a massive advantage versus those that either don't know about those builds or are not willing to run them.

And we're not talking about the well-known META builds. We're talking about those ones that aren't known and perform way better than the META does and are kept quiet about. The secret sauce hidden beneath the extra cheese on that cheese pizza.

To me, there isn't any difference between Gray Host and Vengeance at this point except one has less population. Both are not a skill-based environment and what's happening in PvP spaces cannot be called PvP with what we have on live.

Of course, since this is a forum, they'll be many to disagree and that's fine. Disagree all you want, but the results of the direction of this game and what they have done to PvP with these mythics, arbitrary half-measures and restrictions to "nerf" ball groups, DK changes, future changes, etc. are going to still show.

They will definitely lead to a reduction in players in PvP for sure. How do I know? Because they've already lead to a reduction of me and my family. I never said how many people would be reduced or whether the trend would move only in one direction over all time did I?

    This sadly..
most of my pvp guild left becouse of getting one shooted by DKs. Had some friends returning to the game, played forblike 1-2 days the. asked me what was up with the DKs before they left again. Most BGs i enter players just leaves before the match even starts, or they leave midway when they realise they are just DK fodder. Even find my self playing less and less than i used to.

Blackreach died immediately after the first vengeance campaign - it never came back. Grey Host lost popn after each subsequent round. There are people who only play ESO for PVP and when their preferred format was taken away they found something else to do. 100% predicable outcome. Mission Accomplished ZOS, go ahead and put a banner on the aircraft carrier. Mission Accomplished. You did it. Yay.
