Does anyone know if this skill applies the execute debuff even when the initial hit was dodged? Lets say enemy has under 10% health you use this abiliy on them but they dodged it. Will the execute explosion still hit them? Thanks!

In my experience no. It’s dodged the hit then it dodged the explosion.

Ok thanks, that was my experience as well. I just saw an old forum post stating otherwise and was just wondering. Maybe they changed it at some point.

Exactly. It is an on-player debuff, basically a “sticky” debuff, so it works similarly to something like roll dodging Destructive Clench or DK’s Burning Embers.

If those abilities hit the target, they deal the initial direct damage portion and then apply the on-player debuff, which in the case of Burning Embers and Clench is the DoT. But if you dodge the initial hit, the debuff does not apply either, and the direct damage portion does not land.

So if the first hit is dodged, the execute explosion should be dodged as well because the debuff was never applied in the first place.
