to unlock the Moongrave Fane room in the Hall you need the Scalebreaker Scout achievement, which requires you to complete both dungeons on Normal mode.
so you need to have done that to have the whole house open

Yes, on NORMAL. It would be nice to have NM be either NORMAL or VET like most dungeons.
The night market isn't a dungeon, tho. And joining a random group and following them is, undoubtably, easier to do than running a dungeon.

Don't even get me started about an "event" tailored to a specific group and not all players.

There's already events like that, though? Whitestrakes Mayhem? The events they used to do back when they released a new zone, which effectively paywalled out people who didn't have the latest chapter? You could even argue the Undaunted celebration and Zeal of Zenithar, since the latter requires crafting and a new player may not have ESO+ or an accumulation of materials.

NM is the same difficulty as a Normal Trial. You can PUG it via the group finder, just like you have to PUG Moongrave Fane or Lair of Maarselok via the dungeon finder on normal.

That's my point, exactly! Solo content players, like me, are basically shut out of the house wings and Golden Pursuits. Look, I would love to have Skyrim VI released so I can play solo content to my little heart's content. Since that's not happening anytime soon, I play ESO. In the absence of a solo content Elder Scrolls game, I think the devs should be more thoughtful of their solo content players, that's all. No one has to agree with me, but it sure seems like a lot of players do from what I've read in the discussions.
If you want to do it solo may I offer some advice? Open the group finder, join a group, port to their instance, and then leave the group. Boom: you're now in an instance with a lot of people running around and you didn't even have to interact with anyone else. You can then hang out around other players, while solo, and complete all of the content.

While I appreciate this advice, I feel like you're missing my point. It would be nice if this Golden Pursuit was enjoyable content for all players. It's just not to me, and many others it seems. In a perfect world, all content would be enjoyable.
I understand how to group. It has been my experience that unless my friends are in a group, strangers can be very toxic. Most of my friends stopped playing ESO years ago.
I'm not happy with locked areas in the house being accessible to only a certain type of player in a game where inclusivity reigns. I'm not happy with Golden Pursuits being obtainable to a select group of players. Good on ya if you like this content. I'm allowed to be disappointed.
TairenSoul wrote: »I understand your point. I'd agree, but this "event" is all the Golden Pursuits also. For the last several years, this game has been all about inclusivity. Nerfing builds so noobs could have an easier time of it, as an example. If all players are getting considered, why the NM is tailored to one group of players is a mystery to me. As I stated in my original post, solo players can't do group content without others but group players can do solo content if they want. A solo content based Golden Pursuit can be done by all!

The issue for me is that most group players can solo content alone, but most solo players can't do group content alone. Shouldn't free homes be free to everyone and not just a certain group of players? This is just my opinion and food for thought.

That's outright untrue. There have been multiple PVP specific Golden Pursuits before. Just last year, there was a back to back Whitestrake's Mayhem + Cyrodiil one. There are also multiple ways to find a group, including guilds, the group finder and even the forums. It's an MMO, so not every event is going to cater to strictly solo players, which is fine.
