Tome Challenges

Is there ever going to be more random challenges particularly with killing bosses? Ever since the start of these challenges, I only ever see:
  • complete a trial
  • complete battlegrounds
  • harvest crafting resources (alchemy, blacksmithing, clothing, woodworking)
  • kill a world boss in bangkorai or a public dungeon boss in coldharbor
  • kill one of two wrothgar world bosses
  • kill the last boss of elden hollow 2 or imperial city prison
  • kill flame or storm atronachs
  • kill the boss in kvatch arena (gold coast)
i did get a complete a public dungeon group event in wrothgar that's new; but, each re-roll is of the same challenges previously.

there's so much other things to do that the old daily endeavors had. crafting, antiquities, tales of tribute, world bosses in other zones...as well as public dungeons. it's also really annoying seeing 20+ players waiting on respawns for the same world boss challenge..or public dungeon...when there are so many world bosses and public dungeons that you can have players chasing in the game. i don't understand the obsession of having us all crowd on the same content like it's one of the past dlc events. these are weekly tasks.

can you please consider restructuring these challenges into a massive pool for the game to analyze including dlcs that players have access to; and, just have the game randomly assign challenges accordingly. so maybe you will have base game players doing some of those boss or mob killing challenges that are already present; but, you also have other players with access to more content doing other challenges.

so for example, base games players have these challenges mentioned before:
  • kill a world boss in bangkorai or a public dungeon boss in coldharbor
  • kill one of two wrothgar world bosses
  • kill the last boss of elden hollow 2 or imperial city prison
  • kill flame or storm atronachs
  • kill the boss in kvatch arena (gold coast)
and then since i have access to all dlcs minus the 2025 content pass, i get:
  • kill a world boss in high isle or a public dungeon boss in summerset
  • kill one of two necrom world bosses
  • kill the last boss of coral aerie or the cauldron
  • kill a certain overland mob in elsweyr
  • complete incursion event in west weald

    yeah it feels like the pool of tasks is incredibly small right now, i dont know why they didnt just recycle endeavor tasks for this since its effectively the same thing

    i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

    this is how i would change it. keep the trial, battleground and harvesting crafting resource challenges.

    get rid of all specific world bosses, publc dungeon bosses, public dungeon group event, flame/storm atronachs.

    put in,
    • defeat 20 world bosses 0/1 (iirc this was an old weekly endeavor task)
    • defeat 7 world bosses <in a particular dlc zone that did not become free> 0/1
    • complete 7 incursion events <in a particular dlc zone that did not become free> 0/1
    • complete 10 dark anchors 0/1
    • defeat 20 public dungeon bosses 0/1 (any public dungeon)
    • complete 6 undaunted pledges 0/1
    • complete 6 guild daily quests 0/1
    • complete 6 thieves guild daily quests 0/1 (same for dark brotherhood)
    • decon 20 items 0/1
    • excavate 10 antiquities 0/1
    • win 5 tales of tribute matches 0/1
    • complete 7 master writs 0/1
    • complete 20 daily crafting writs 0/1
    • defeat 25 atronachs 0/5 (any atronach, iirc this was the quantity of the current flame/storm atronach challenge)
    • defeat 25 <insert other mobs from previous endeavors> 0/5 (giants/ogres, trolls, amphibious, ghosts, human daedra, beast daedra, etc)
    • insert cyrodiil and imperial city challenges
    of course, change the quantity of those challenges as needed. more importantly, make them random for each player. and if certain players have more dlcs, give them challenges that they have access to...to increase the randomness.

    it's an mmo. there will still be a handful of us doing the same challenge. i would just like to loot the boss i kill instead of seeing 25+ players waiting for a respawn (almost all day but every day) and not getting to loot because i'm not an arcanist (and don't have access to it yet). or 25+ players running around waiting for the same trash mobs to kill (almost all day but every day).

    some of those ideas of challenges also allows players to pick up the daily quest (ie. dlc world boss, dlc incursion) as well.

    With a massive list of Night Market tasks, all tied to the Night Market, was it really necessary to make this week's addition to the seasonal tome challenges (the kind you cannot reroll) also tied to the Night Market? I tried the Night Market and decided it is not for me so I won't be doing any of the golden pursuits beyond the starter quest - and I'm fine with that. . . but it does feel overdone to contaminate tomes with it as well.

    If the intent is to force players into content they do not enjoy, that has never worked, and only results in angry players who consider leaving the game.
