Where is everyone?

I spent maybe 45 minutes guiding people to the Curator in Fargrave because that hidden path is far too hidden and I saw heaps of people heading into the Night Market. When I headed up the path to the Curator myself there were dozens of people all talking to the Curator at once.

When I got into the Night Market, there was almost nobody there and when I wandered around the Parch I only saw one or two other people. It looks as if the player cap is for the Night Market as a whole rather than for each district. Please tell me that's not true.

Maybe there was a big group of people fighting a boss somewhere, but I couldn't tell.

One of the play styles that was talked about was being able to follow groups around work with them without formally grouping up. That isn't going to work if you can't find anyone else.

I realise it's still the working day in the US, but there is an obvious disparity between how many people are standing outside the Night Market and how many people you see in the Night Market.

Are we really getting the player cap in each district?

i also only encountered people in the first district - the other 2 were empty....i get the suspicion there might be something broken with the instancing

every one and their granny is in the The Thousand Eye faction zone. unless you come with a premade group for the 2 others it will be hard. Should be enough players in the The Thousand Eyes zone to run around solo

The districts are instanced. Most people probably go in groups, so you probably got a mostly empty instance.

Your chosen faction only dictates what faction rewards you get, but you can group with anyone, and each district has its own quests and achievements. So I am pretty sure everyone and their granny do every district.

Yeah we had a premade group and barely saw anyone. Definitely not any other groups (unless we saw the survivors of the groups)

The grouo event thing that appears in the middle of the parch? Went to that when it appeared and no one else was there.

As a group we struggled to take on the mobs. I have no idea how you are supposed to fight the bosses if no one else is there?

How big are the event zone groups in the group finder? Are they large groups?

Is there a reason everyone went for the thousand eye faction with what feel like a x5 pop gap compared to the other when I look at scores?

I spent a couple hours hopping around instances and most of the time there is just NO. ONE. THERE. No one spoke in zone chat in most of the instances the entire time. Not everyone will always have a coordinated group to go in with. They need to look at how the instancing is being done and consider putting more players together.

This is what I was wondering.

I thought 'okay, I can find tons of people in there killing and maybe get a few kills myself!'

First time I went in the first district, I saw like three people moving independantly of each other. All of them were dying frequently. (as was I)

Second time was much better, at first I didn't see anyone, but then I saw a group killing enemies below the resurrection point, and noticed I was getting kill counts so I followed them around a while and got some more quests and got some quests done. Unfortunately I couldn't stay as I had to go shopping.

Third time I tried, after I got back from shopping, I saw one other person in the instance, and they mostly died instantly, as did I. I did manage to complete a couple of quests and turn them in, but that was only because I could do them from either the resurrection point OR just below at a jump pad.

I saw a couple of people asking for a group, and I asked as well, but no one answered, so I assume no one was grouping up.

So yeah, it can be fun if you can find others to play with, but it seems as if you don't find that group *before* you enter the district, you are going to be out of luck most of the time.

I can only imagine how horrible this event zone will be in non-peak hours considering I have seen only three other players in the two districts I have visited during the PC NA prime time hours. If it's a ghost town in prime time, then playing at other times is going to be a complete waste of time and this event zone will be a huge failure.

Yeah, I tried it throughout the day. Three different times.

One morning for me, I would say about 8 to 9ish, give or take an hour, CST, then one about 11 to 12ish, then at about 3 to 4ish.

The only time I saw a group was in the 11 to 12ish one. The first one I saw I think two people, the last one I saw one.

I am thinking about popping in now, at 10:12 CST, and seeing how it looks, but I don't expect it to have changed.

Okay, just got back, and I found a group of people! I asked in chat where is everyone and someone answered!

So, I got a lot of items, killed a lot of creatures, picked up a new quest, but didn't get any others completed.

I think there were like 12 or so people? It was hard to tell, since everyone was moving, companions were out, and people split off to go their own directions at time.

One thing that I don't like is how difficult it is to tell what is going on when you are in the middle of a fight.

Not only do you have all the player skills going off right and left, but you have enemies spawning in, because the fight took too long, and other enemies moving around, and sometimes quickly jumping at people, but ALSO you have all the rings of doom that are constantly going off to the point there often isn't any place to stand that you aren't going to be killed nearly instantly.

Agreed. I just logged on again (around 2 am NA ET) and there are a couple of players here and there, but not enough to take on the bosses. And when you're by yourself there's not much you can do.

From 8-10pm EST I lead a group of 12 from one of my guilds through The Parch, just doing quests and killing stuff, ran into a lot of large clusters of players, both in groups and solo.

No issues killing anything, it was pretty fun!

    Yeah.

I went through later in the day with a group of 12+ people (which was tricky) and we just smashed stuff out and had fun learning what was where.

Going in solo to find a group to work with, that doesn't work so well. It feels a bit odd.

Maybe all the people got the house, failed hard at solo play and then bailed?

Without a guild it is a pretty bad experience. Thankfully one of my guilds had/has sign ups for 3-5 runs a day. A few runs yesterday were two full raid groups.
