Theorising on how to improve Sorcerer Masteries

Conservation of Energy
This seems to be ok in PvE, but overtuned in PvP, so remove the sustain while Battle Spirit is active.
Anything else would need changes to Blood Magic, which is unlikely to happen before the Sorcerer refresh

Font of Power
This seems to be ok

Static Reverberation
Increase the damage of the proc, increase the duration of the cooldown to 1 second, and remove the reduced chance with permanent pets.
The pets do not attack often enough to nerf the chance that much. If the problem is that it would be OP in PvP, add in a Battle Spirit modifier to reduce the chance or the damage

Calculated Defense
Allow the damage shield to proc based on any ability cast, while restricting it only to Sorcerer abilities when Battle Spirit is active, and increase the extra Weapon and Spell damage.
This is meant to be the Tank passive for PvE, but pure Sorcerer tanks don't have that many class skills they want to cast. The only definites are Conjured Ward, Lightning Form and the Storm Atro, along with a few maybes, such as Bound Aegis for block mitigation, or the Clannfear for the heal, and 6% extra WSD is really low. Minor Brutality or Sorcery is 10%, plus with Dragonknights getting a better group source of Major Berserk, Sorcerers really need something

Sphere of Influence
Change the proc condition to healing or overhealing.
Sorcerers are not a good class for giving damage shields to their allies. Dragonknights and Arcanists have class skills that can shield allies much more consistently than Daedric Refuge

And Daedric Refuge still does not even apply Sphere of Influence to self or allies. I hope you looked at more than just the tooltip of these.

What confuses me more is why Sphere of Influence lasts only 4 seconds, whereas any other damage shield in the game I can think of has been unified to being 6 seconds in ages long bygone.

I don't think the developers will waste too many resources on Sorc before the Warden rework is complete. (Of course, even after the Warden rework, they won't waste resources on Sorc either.) Sorc players will either have to switch to another class or continue to tolerate the current situation. After all, it's well known that the developers don't like Sorc; just look at past developer comments: "Those who don't like the Sorc skill line should replace it with a subclass."

They're referring to when subclassing became available and they tried to make excuses for how butt Daedric Summoning was with comments like, well if you don't like pets, pick up another line.

Obviously insensitive to how people want to play this game, and I'd argue they've since learned that people very much want a complete and wholistic pure class kit with options instead of forcing you to play something else.

But yeah, let's be a bit more optimistic, Sorc rework is probably already in the early stages of developement since it will hit PTS by Sept 13, only 4.5 months from now. The current Mastery's will eventually need to be retooled to fit the new skills and passives anyway, at least we don't have to wait long. I just wanted something fun and powerful for the mean time.

Nah, keep the sustain but nerf the healing. I don't want to slot Dark Deal again, no thanks. Literally the most dated skill in the game in a fast paced meta, taking up a whole bar slot and making bar space so difficult to deal with.

Even if they fix the interaction with Daedric Refuge, it's still a terrible skill to shield allies with

You can't really nerf the healing without touching Blood Magic in some way, since Conservation doesn't heal by itself. Maybe you could limit it to only work off of Sorcerer abilities in PvP, but that's as far as you can go without simply removing the passive from working while Battle Spirit is active

I would like to say that this is only momentarily true. Right now the meta Monomyth grants Minor Berserk to relativize Dark Deal. If you want to use any other Mythical (I do and do it) then Dark Deal goes nowhere.
