Malevolent Promise in PvP

Come on ZOS, can we at least try to have this passive function in PvP? It seems absurd that it's the only mastery passive that literally does nothing in PvP environments.

Being able to apply corpse consumers to enemies would not be too powerful in PvP, so is it a performance issue? Most Corpse Consumers struggle to be useful at all in PvP; this passive would at least make a few more of them more viable.

@ZOS_Kevin Is there some esoteric reason why allowing this to function in PvP is off the table?

I think necros deserve a reply from ZOS on this. There's really no excuse for it.

The point of PTS is to test stuff, even if its too good there are better ways to balance it like giving it a longer cooldown with battle spirit active than just saying this cant be used in pvp.

Very sad to see this is not changed for 3 weeks in a row. Specially because Necro is already in such a weak place that the class would probably still be weak even with this passive enabling corpseburster in pvp.

This honestly breaks my faith in Zos to ever balance Class Masteries. Banning this passive from pvp while Conversation of Energy/ Font of Power/ Wild Embers go untouched for 3 weeks is sad.

Class Masteries as they are now are too feast or famine and in my honest opinion even more half baked than the Subclassing system it was trying to ammend. As it is now what will happen is we will see a bunch of Sorcs and DK's running around in pvp and a really stale meta.

I understand balancing all this is hard for the devs but i honestly expected better.

    Necro is once again mistreated.

This class is the class that needs refresh the most yet they place it last.

I think I am going to be forced to stop playing because of how bad the class is compared to other classes and that the devs are not listening to their customers concerning this class.

Where is my money going? On buffing other classes while leaving mine destroyed and weak?

I have been waiting five years to see if this class could be brought up to the same level as other classes, more than five years of Necro being considered the worst class, and still we are not being listened to.

It might not feel great to get killed because someone in your own faction got Detonating Siphon on them and followed you around for 20 seconds.

Veil’s Forfeit can produce corpses on mobile players at a higher rate than Malevolent would so I doubt it is a performance issue but, I've been wrong before.

Pound of Flesh can also proc Veil's Forfeit.

-Offensive skills that can be CCed, LoSed and depend on NPC AI not derping out
-Tether skills that can break because of a small pebble on the floor
-Skills that have ridiculous positioning requirements to be able to do 100% of their effects
-A Class Mechanic that is extremely unreliable in mobile fights

    Now add to the list:
-Class Passives that work in only 1 game mode

I seriously hope that waiting for the rework isn't just a waste of time.

Its a 5 meter radius. That is smaller than than melee range. You could just, idk, walk away from the player? How is it any different than a warden casting Fetcherflies on someone?

I have a feeling based on past pvp changes related to corpse mechanics, that it is a performance killer.

If that were the case they'd have made the heal version of the passive PvE only as well
