Why Soloed Dungeons are forbidden in the new Golden Pursuit??

I'm not a fan of events that require a teammate for rewards. At least most of these are not so bad other than the world boss one. Doing a trial completed most of the enemy ones.

I don’t mind grouping but so far the few groups I joined in the group finder for the Pursuits/Challenges were mostly people AFKing in other zones expecting me to get the tasks done for them.

So, you could do that if you can’t stand interacting with other players... but please don’t.

Clearly ZOS want to encourage speed runners in dungeons so people like me and others can have their dungeon quests ruined. clearly thats why

How dare ZOS focus on content intended for multiple players in this Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game!

Seriously, it’s not that big of a deal. Use group finder, queue for dungeons, get it over with. Or don’t, and accept that you won’t have some cosmetics that’ll probably end up coming back in the crown store or as rewards for some event later down the line.

Pushing and forcing players into groups is just going to push them away.

    it works, too.

my playtime on eso has dropped from hours to minutes almost overnight.

    working as intended? :/

So...the existence of optional tasks for cosmetics made you lose interest in whatever you were just spending hours on just yesterday? Seems odd.

not at all, it's been cumulative.

after twelve years, this latest 'feature' tipped it, though.

It's post like these that remind me that the plot is lost on a lot of people. The golden pursuit is to prepare players for the Night Market, meaning this pursuit is about team work since progress in the Night Market requires and incentives playing in a group.

That said, to encourage people to play in a group, they made challenges that require you to... (You probably want to sit down for this) Play in a group.

The thing is that, except for very few instances (from what I've been told optional for the main things people might want to get - the house and house updates), the Night Market won't need people to be grouped.

And the chore list isn't actually meaningfully preparing people for group content either. All you need for chore completion is having your character in "grouped with another person" status, there's no need to actually run the dungeons or fight the world bosses together - the person you're grouped with can be in a completely different zone, of even offline.

Unfortunately the plot isn't lost on me. All I can think of is when Craglorn was introduced and how it was encouraging grouping and teamwork. But it went beyond encouraging and was completely mandatory because the difficulty was so high that no one could even quest without a full group. The Night Market sounds just like a clone of this.

I really don't understand why some consider grouping the ultimate goal and why it's being pushed on everyone. Those that enjoy grouping can group. But in a game that admittedly has a large solo player base, forcing grouping is only going to drive players out.

I'm going to put on my horn-rimmed glasses (with obligatory tape) and break out the "well, actually..." for this. No, you do not need to be in an active group to complete those "while grouped" dungeons. Get a friend or guildie to group with you and then go solo whatever you want to go solo. As long as neither of you enters another group, leaves the group, or enters a solo instance of something, then you're grouped as far as the pursuit is concerned. It's not checking for multiple players in the dungeon, only that the player is grouped. I've used that to good effect during events which "encourage" grouping.

For a two-fer, do the pledge dungeons (get the pledge first, though). Actually, that's a three-fer because the pledge counts as a quest and there is a pursuit for that, too.
This, you can even do them in normal but non dlc vet is pretty low stress I say.
The dlc you do in normal yes has pugged vet dlc but its a bit hit and miss.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

The house you don’t need to group for. The wing unlocks you do. It’s a perfectly usable house without the wing unlocks, I found the unlocks disappointing, actually. But yeah, you could only get maybe 2 fragments for the relics solo. Out of 8 or so.

Really, Syldras, there probably isn't a rhyme or reason. Maybe a vague idea about teamwork to prepare for the night market. For myself, I've been preparing by doing fargrave, a zone I kinda put off after blackwood. I don't want to be surprised by characters or inferences. A golden pursuit about doing fargrave dailies or something with also some dungeons added for the teamwork would've seemed more appropriate.

I think at the end of the day, they just wanna hype people up for the night market. It obviously wasn't that important because the rewards they used are forgettable.

As for the night market, probably best to run around with folks or find a group of folks to get help killing bosses but the only requirement for groups will be the 3 dungeon bosses and the trial boss. They even nerfed the trash mobs.

Someone else posted just yesterday that you would not need that for the extra rooms. Are those relics inside those 4- and 12-player instances? Or would it be possible to get them while just tagging along with a mass of random people ungrouped?

I joined a group from the group finder yesterday for WB's and golden activities. WB's got knocked out in 10 minutes then most people stayed in group and went to do their own thing. Saw several group members in different dungeons so they were likely soloing.

People jumped in an out for the next hour and I think there was only 1 or 2 comments in group chat the whole time so this can be done with little interaction even if you choose. These activities actually ticked off a bunch of my weekly tome challenges as well.

I'll likely post in guild chat over the weekend and help people do pledges if they want as well.

This is what happens when a company releases content in little bites instead of full expansion type. You get small busy work events over and over to make the world feel alive so people don't notice the actual lack of content so much.

Adding the Night Zone as part of an expansion with other areas of game play would not have even caused many people to blink. The notice of it being group content is mostly cause that's all there really is. Season 0 has had no real new content so the Night Market is the only content coming out for the season that isn't just bug fixes or other various changes like the DK refresh.

I'm going to have to try that. Got an alt account which has mostly been farming motifs and recipes for the two crafters (main and alt) and hadn't even considered that this was possible. Thanks.

EDIT: looks doable, but needs both accounts logged in (requiring two computers with ESO installed, I'd guess). Sounds good in the hypothetical; not so workable in the practical.

    Seriously? Because it's a MMO.

And main purpose of those tiny bonus season is usually for

MMO does NOT mean grouping. It ONLY means there are multiple players in the game world at the same time.

The relics are required to enter the 4 and 12 man instances, so they’re all obtainable in the overland portion. The two fragments solo people could get (per relic) is the one from trash enemies and the one from favor. The rest are killing bosses. You could follow people to finish the fragments but with an overall cap of 36 people across the entire Night Market… I think people would be best off just making a group finder listing. But we’ll see, maybe it’ll be easier to find people than I think.

I'm going to encourage the OP to simply not engage in activity you don't enjoy. Don't let weaponized FOMO rob you of your enjoyment. Do what you like, leave behind what you don't. You'll be happier and won't burn out quite so often/much. And if these tactics turn you off on a larger scale, vote with your time/wallet and leave it behind because it will just make you miserable.

To get the bank in the new home one needs to get 3000 favor. How much grouping is necessary for that?
