New player experience (PvP)

A lot of players are attracted to this game because of the PvP they see online and builds require mythics to be good, in this case I was gonna help him make a non-mythic build but instantly logged never to be seen again because skyrim / mythic starter quest is locked behind DLC. Not sure if this was free week-end or something but just leaving this here.

Maybe consider letting new players have oakensoul for free, it isn't even a competitive mythic and really is just good for NPE / learning how to play.

Oakensoul is hardly a cheat code or a shortcut to success in PVP. PVP has a steep learning curve. No mythic, builds, armor set, etc. will get you there sooner. Only learning how to play PVP through trial and error will lead to success. Oakensoul, in all honesty, may hinder that more than help, as playing with it is unlike any other effective PVP build or style of PVP play.

That's exactly my point, oakensoul is bad so giving it to new players (instead of wasting their time grinding it) to try niche build because it's fun will keep them hooked and motivated to try other options once they realize they need more than just one bar to compete.

There's also Ayleid King Torc that is a good "learn to play" mythic but currently hard to obtain and defeats the theory crafting part of the game.

It's not my game so I don't really care what happens with this thread I've already done my part. We can't expect every new player to stay playing the game either so maybe it's for the best that someone stops playing right away since they can't handle the grind.

ZOS has never given anything away. They're not going to start now.

But beyond that, it hurts players to give them things. They're better off earning the things they need, and so are all the players who group with them.
